It has been posted a couple times a while back, but it came to nothing. I doubt it will be fixed before FH2. Cheers, from Gemini's wurst nitemare.

It's a server setting. As long as it is, it won't be changed. If most people wanted to play without nametags, servers would not have them, because if they did, they would not be as popular. Seeing as this is not the case, we must conclude that most people do like nametags.

It's only been brought up 10000 times, and it only been answered 10000 times: it's a server setting.

If you wanted a way to determine whether a soldier was friendly or not for FH2 rather than nametags, do you think there might be a way to incorporate the "crickets" they used on D-day? It was just a little piece of plastic that made a clicking noise, and allies would click them once if a soldier was near. If they got two clicks back, they held off, if they got nothing, the opened fire. Just a thought, I dunno if I'd like it though cause TK's are so visciously punished in BF2.

I can tell Axis from Allies just fine, but I like nametags so I can tell Joe and George apart on my team since everyone looks the same.

Yeah, it's a server setting. They can change the distance at which the nametag shows up. I remember playing XWW2 on this one server with nametags completely off. It really was fun since the enemy couldn't steal tanks.
