Many people complain that there are [-insert SMG name here-] on certain maps. I agree, so why is it not possible to reduce the number of SMGs ingame by simply removing them from the class selection screen and make them available as pickup kit only? It sure would add to the realism factor if there were less SMGs ingame. After all, in most cases the average grunt had a rifle, not a SMG.

I think the pick up kits are a stupid idea. I'd rather like to see the advantages and disadvantages between SMGs and rifles strenghtened (or whatever would be a proper term) to somewhat the same direction as in XWWII. Depending on the submachinegun, the maximum effective range would be somewhere between 50 and 100 meters. Then the damage and accuracy would drop to very ineffective levels. The max accuracy while laying down would also be a lot lower than it currently is. However, the damage would be a lot higher from very close ranges, like <50 meters. One or two shots would be enough to kill, unlike in the current version, where you have you have to pump the enemy up with so much led he could use his dick for a pencil. The SMGs should not compete with rifles from longer ranges, as they currently do and only be effective for close ranged combat.

So, as FH has made rifles ineffective for close quarters combat, it should make SMGs ineffective for semi-long ranged combat but enhance their close quarters effectiveness.

I'm not bothered by Submachinegunners at all. It's the mg34 and 42-ers that really get me going, just running around using it as a freaking ppsh or something. Completely unrealistic and not fun at all.

It would be better if they limited it so that only 2 can use the SMG from a team. :deal:

Your not bothered by them because you propobly play allies, :lookaround: try playing Foy and winning if we dont have more than 5 MG42's covering the flanks, its honestly fair too... Right now on Foy, half of our team plays with a damn Tompson that they pick up off dead bodies, so ask yourself how much worse its going to be when they give only 2 MG42s on a map, and you guys can lay down the fire with a BAR. Its-Bull-Shit, I tell ya.

what would be cool if on stalingrad level you only spawed with a knife (when Russian) then you pick up a kit (rifle mainly) of a table near the docks before you jump in the boats heading for your doom.....

Shifty, the russians were heavily armed at stalingrad, don't let 'Enemy at the Gates' fool you, the ruskies were desperate but not desperate enough to be weilding 1 rifle per 2 men.

Not exactly heavily armed... to get a genereal idea the Thirteenth Guards Infantry Division went into Stalingrad even though 10% of their troops didn't have weapons, not 50% or more like people like to exaggerate.

I think class restrictions should be implemented and pickup kits should be used only for special purposes(StG with scope, etc.) The other classes should then have restricted amount of people who can use a certain weapon.
