Hey everyone, I was thinking with the sniper models, mainly the japanese one. When it moves its kinda crouching, but can you add something like a gillie suit over them? japanese snipers in ww2 used them Im pretty sure and it would be great to have a sniper with the suit on. Only problem I can think of is campers, using the suits camoflauge ability and stuff to camp on bases and stuff.

People focus to much on visual aspects of being noticed, the best way to find a sniper is by the sound if the sniper is a bit skilled. I like the idea tho.

I think this is best left to FH2. I'd like to see a Waffen SS snipers faceveil. http://65.160.172.250/repro/rc126.html

Well BF2 has gillie suits coming standard, so I don't think we need to worry. Except it will have to be changed for the US, as to my knowledge they didn't make use of a lot of camo...

First things first ~ remove that huge rediculous looking radio from their back. ;)

Yeah, I don't know if it would have been the smartest aproach for a sniper to have a big clunky box on his (or her for the russians) back. The little bit of camoflage on the snipers helmet in game is laughable.

I guess it's just one of those little things that's not worth the effort to change. It might involve reskinning/modelling the entire soldier, as the radio is probably part of the model itself.

I'm guessing that the radio is simply left over from the Vanilla sniper class, which also acted as the officer kit. The radio would be used to communicate (not in the game of course but what can you expect from such a dated game?) with artillery batteries from a distance. It's definitely not necessary for FH, since we have an officer class who's job is specifically to spot for artillery (and use a kickass pistol. gotta love that Luger!). Here's an idea though: remove the radio from all the current classes, and create a new pickup class that has the radio and special binocs: left click for automated artillery, just like the artillery spotter blimp in bf1918, and right click for standard request for artillery. It would have unlimited automated spots, but the reload would be long, to counteract constant baserape.
