LateralusAre you using highest sound detail and 44kHz? I've noticed that different sound settings give totally different sounds. It sounds loud, but it doesn't sound anything like a machine gun. Individual bangs with space in between don't really define machine gun.

yea i use High 44khz and 64 channels .. and i also think that most of the Tank Cannon sounds are pretty bad and of to low quality ..

I'm pretty much with BAM in this one. Most vehicle sounds need some serious work. I've got quite hard time also hearing from which direction the sounds are coming from, and I'm using 5.1 system afterall.

The infantry weapons are nice, though. I like all of them, except for some bugs like sounds clipping in .30 Browning. MG34/42 isn't very good either. Tanelorns soundpack featured an awesome MG42 sound..

The new pistol sounds are awesome, but I miss the old airplane engine sounds. Made you feel like you were in the plane. Damn Merciless bastards.

talking about the m1 carbine sound,I found a sound sample of the m1 carbine in the web.check it out!

sound much better than the current FH one, probably taken from a real carbine. here you go: http://www.marauder.org/carbine.wav

5.1 surround sound wont help you locate naything in FH, since BF 1942 only supports stero sound. But BFV supports surround sound, but its EAX is causing some issues. I to have a 5.1 system, and although you hear sounds from the rear speakers, they arn´t located properly. As for the actualy issue, I can live with most sounds and think they are overall good. But I think the Nevelwerfer is still bugged and you dont hear it comming sometimes...

Since noone answered I'll post an attachment of the British Fletcher AA gun. I don't know the name of it but it has no sound. Map is Desert Rose.

That must be it. The sound itself isn't bad, its that the timing is hopelessly off.

I remembered another - the G43. The sound seems to get cut off halfway through. It sounds good when another player fires it near you, in third-person, but when you fire it yourself, the sound is soft, dampened, and cut short.

Also, the MP40 sound for third-person really sucks. It sounds good in first-person, but total crap in third-person.

Looks like a quad Lewis. Didn't know those even existed, but looks pretty cool anyway.
