Yep. Usual loadout was 1 Drum and 3 mags. The Russians kept the drums loaded by default.

Since BF can't do that, its randomized. I think the current system works well. The 35 round box mag is still deadly as sin.

i all honesty i think the rate of fire is what makes the PPsh so deadly not so much the drum capacity . i can own more with the stick simply cause i can carry more spare ammo sticks that with 2 spare drums

well, its the ROF and the drum that made it deadly IMO. With the drum you could cover a chokepoint or an area in general for a pretty good amount of time, giving your teamies an opportunity to move up. Its also good to spray and pray when youre running accross a street because it has so much ammo. I personally dont shoot more often with a drum than a stick. I just reload less.

The problem with the daul gun idea is that some people (including myself) have "thumb buttons" on their mouses, alowing for fast gun changing (this is VERY useful if you have a rifle-pistol combo), thus giving the guy with the PPSH 106 bullets. Some people are also so pro at the game they can press the weapon numbers as fast as the people with thumb buttons. The only fix I can see is slowing down the animation for taking out the 35 rd. gun (to like 3-4 sec). Im not sure this can be done though.

Um...how many of the 35 mags do you get total? 6, right? And you get 3 71 round mags total.

6 * 35 = 210. 3 * 71 = 213.

So actually you don't get more bullets with the 35 round mag, you get 3 more with the 71 mag. Behold the power of multiplication.

but you are more likely to expend all your ammo first with the drum
