Just wondering if the devs have considered spawning from halftracks (and possibly troop trucks for allies). I think it would add a dynamic feature to the battlefield. It would give these light vehicles a usefulness they don't currently have. I feel it would encourage teamwork too. And it is fairly realistic IMO. After all they were troop carriers. I thought it worked really well in PR.
What do people think?
Personally I support this idea, or would like the devs to try it in beta. I think Lobo is opposed though.
Oh right. I wonder what Lobo's reasons are. It would encourage people to play the well-modelled infantry too, without discouraging tankers and flyers.
Only takes one halftrack or truck parked next to enemy main to ruin the game.
Not really, Anlushac - anti-basecamp tool comes in on all maps that need it in the next patch (so I believe), and a half track goes down to two or three good ATR shots. Throw in well-adminned servers AND the fact that it's hard enough to drive a single tank to an active mainbase let alone a lightly armoured APC and we have no such problem as the one you describe.
I support this idea. It's fun sitting in a truck and waiting to reach your destination.

And where is the diffrence to the way it is right now?
Maybe if soldiers could only spawn from squad leaders if the squad leader was either in a half track, troop-transport truck, landing craft, or Transport aeroplane? Sound like a good idea to anyone else?
IMO to much spawn point are already ingame , no need fora mobile-spawn-halftrack.
FH07 had those nice apc-things that could cross water and you could spawn in them. I think at least Liberation of Caen had them. I really liked those buggers as they gave little headache to germans as allies could spawn in their rear and cap that church and/or backflag near the town square.
