FuzzyBunnyWhat if the squad leader is a 13 year old frickin moron who wants his 13 year old frickin moron buddy to have the MG?
No different from tk'ing someone for the sniper kit, except now there's no penalty.
Not saying it's a bad idea, just playing devil's advocate. Anytime you give one player a degree of control over others, you run into the potential of abuse.
There is more then 1 squad. In fact, there is a total of 9 squads per game. And if you have 9 squads with a 12yo squad leader and his buddy in each of those (thats 18 smacktards on a team of 32 of a full server), then you find a better server to play on
well, hopefully it shouldnt be a problem. As the server gets bigger, hopefully the number of class slots will get bigger (1 outa 5, 2 outa 10, etc etc)
We might be able to also have a voteing system for restricted classes in order to vote out bad users
And if all else fails, vistit your local armory and pick up an extra kit from there.
Having it squad coded is just a logistical and design nightmare.

Ah, so all the squad-restricted weapons will also be available as kits in limited places (did I get that right?)
That'd be very cool. And fair enough about the multiple doofoid squad leaders.

To encouage teamplay, you should consider making the limits based on the number of populated squads (say 2-3 qualifies as "populated").
Not only will this encourage teamplay, but those who do play as a unit will have an advantage in selecting specialty kits because they will know when a new one will open up.
Just a thought.
