I saw a FH2 screenie showing the kit layout for the germans and one for the americans, It does'nt seem fair the Germans have Bolt Kars(and limited full auto Mp40's) while the Americans have semi auto garands.(And limited thompsons with semi auto abilites) Would it be possible to give the germans, russians, and brits semi auto rifles in spawn menu instead of pickup? Maybe not on all maps that it would be historically inaccurate, But when facing enemies with semi auto rifles.

The Mauser is a fine weapon. If you're trying to go close range, where that cycling time really counts, with a rifle, then you're already doing something wrong.

War isn't fair, get used to it. Besides, the mauser is not to be underestimated, it's a fine weapon as has already been mentioned. It all just comes down to the skill of the user, not the weapon in quesiton.

Where did you see Americans with the m1? They aren't in game yet. As for saying German should get semi-auto to counter act it. The k98 is more accurate then the m1, and works better for long range, besides the minute you shoot with the m1, you're crosshair goes insane so you can't fire succesively a bunch. The k98 can fire fast and accuratley.

Mwah, i wouldnt worry too much about it. Germans squads in real life revolved around the machinegun. The limited amount of MP40's shouldnt hurt at all. That is, IF the devs implent it properly. Thats something im quite worried about. Infact, depending on the type of map your playing the Germans might even receive twice as much as mg's as the Allies. For example, an Aufklarungkompanie was issued two maschinengewerhs per gruppe instead of one.

I prefer the Karabiner 98k. The Garand just seems heavy and harder to aim, plus as someone pointed out, the recoil is more noticeable. the only time I prefer it is when I spawn, walk outside, and theres a German guy running towards me with a mauser/shovel and I can spray and pray...

Having just played a painful game of wake on the Japanese side, I should say Americans would need the option to use springfields. I don't know how many times I was out-shot in both range and speed by those crazy American defenders...

Never really got that, the recoil on the Garand should be much less than the Mauser.

Giving each side similar weapons is DICE's way of balancing things, FH does better than that. Play FH1, and you will see.

yes, i feel the weapons are equally balanced, once again, it's a question of who can spot the enemy, and hit him first, both the m1 an Mauser kill in one shot

On the other hand you should look it from the bright side. From 1942 onwards the amount of automatic weapons for the Germans slightly increases due to large amounts of smgs such as the ppsh 41's being captured and ofcourse increased production of Mp 40's. After 1943 its not strange to see entire squads being equipped with Stg 44's. For more information see. Hopefully the devs will keep this in mind. Axis History Forum :: Soldiers and Submachine guns
