This is atrocious. During Panzer Batallion training this evening, my clan mates and I were tasked with bringing down two Tigers using four T-34s and two KV-1s. Should be a simple task, no?
Well, we of course out flanked them (at E4 flag of Prok) with ease, using the hills to our advantage. Yet when I brought my T-34/76 up to the rear end of a stationary Tiger, less than 100 yards away, and shot two shells into him, all he did was turn around and one hit kill me.
After the round, in these very forums here, he admitted that the shells no more than bounced off his tank, causing no damage at all.
Now, the fact that he killed me in one shot is fine, but I should have been able to easily do the same to him.
In another incident, where we were again Russians defending from a combined Elefant and Tiger counterattack, I found myself 200 yards at off the Tiger's 3 o'clock position. I put three rounds into him, at a range where one round should at least immobilize that tank, only to see him run behind a building and return fire at a KV-1, killing it.
People, this is terrible. The T-34/76 was a tank that even the Tiger had to be wary of. These events did not reach their outcome because of lack of speed, skill, or communication, that I can assure you. The Russians always fired first, had the designated veteran tank commanders, and were all on Ventrillo coordinating the assault.
The gun was mis-coded, and it needs to be fixed.
Simple as that.
You still need to give some credit to the Tiger commanders ;)
But being usually a russian tank commander, I have to agree. In some cases, I had to shoot a douzen times at a Tiger's side to kill it (the side being less armored than the rear in the Tiger's case). I do not think, however, that range affects weapon damage in FH.
And as someone who plays as a German tank commander, I can say that the T-34 really doesn't scare me at all. Most of the time they just go *ping* like the Boys and PTRD. That should be fixed, pronto.

i was wondering if there is a coding for shells to bounse off the tanks. i have had this happen to me a couple of times. also the panther was almost as armored as the tiger witht 80mm vers tiger 100mm but the panther had sloped armor while the tiger had relativeley flat vertical armor. so shouldnt a panther be stronger ingame also? BTW i always point my front armor toward who im shooting(i know many do this but just a tip) it helps alot.
No, not really. I would say that the Panther works fine for me most of the time. My main problem is that the Bazooka can not easily penetrate the Panther's side armor, which it apparently could do IRL.
From what I am reading on Battlefield.ru ( http://www.battlefield.ru/guns/defin_4.html ) . The T34/76's F34 76.2mm gun should have about 80% chances or more to penetrate 80mm of armor at 100meters (of course this depends on ammo type, mostly. The BR-350P shell can even penetrate 102mm). Since the Tiger's rear and side armor is 80mm, a T34 shell should penetrate at short range, or if it fits better FH's system : do some decent damage.
meh, it took about 1/15 of my health out with both shots, it was like a tickle. Being in a russian clan I can say that I am very very scared of tigers when im in my t-34 and I usually run away or surrender.
