Is it possible to make the tanks (and tank hunters, like the StuG's) in the mod carry both AT rounds as well as HE rounds (against infantry)? In real life they did have both types of rounds (more or less in 60% - 40% proportion, slightly in favor of the AT rounds) and switching between them, in the mod, could be implemented with a combination of keys (ex. up / down arrow keys), like for the 88 cannon (which fires AA and AT rounds, activated by W and S). Also, it would be very nice to have the tank / tank hunters aiming sights show a slightly zoomed image (in second F9 view) of the surroundings, like they did in real life. Possibly a x1.5 or a x2.0 magnification; the correct historical info about that should be available on the Net.

Great idea, but unfortunaly not possible with the BF1942 engine. But it is possible in BF2 though. Although i hope that it is added as soon as FH switches over to BF2.

I dont know if this is possible or not with the BF1942 engine, but if its possible then i would like to see it. About the zoomed image, i dont know much about that, although Tarrif.net has alot of information about the optics of tanks.

Switching tank ammo in FH2 should be doable since they have it on choppers.

It sure is possible. Ever played DC Realism? There were APDS, HE, HEDP, Frag, and other kinds of tank rounds available for differnt tanks. You could toggle between the tank rounds using the arrow keys.

solodude23-FHIt sure is possible. Ever played DC Realism? There were APDS, HE, HEDP, Frag, and other kinds of tank rounds available for differnt tanks. You could toggle between the tank rounds using the arrow keys.

About the BF1942 engine, I thought if the dual-round system works for cannons (see the 88 one) it might work for tanks too. In any case, it would be useful to have both types of rounds on tanks and mobile artillery.

Learn facts before you say something like that. Like someone else said DCR has it and it works quite well. But please use the search function because this subject has been brought up many many times before.

DCR could do it because they had SEPERATE driver and gunner in tanks. In BF1942 no one has been able to do it with a combined driver and gunner. It has to do with the number of controls that can be assigned to a position in a vehicle.

Its more than just simply HE and AP. There were tons of different types of AP rounds by the end of the war. Hell, the Brits even had Sabot. Granted, it wasn't nearly as effective as it could have been because the Cromwells lacked proper sights for the new ultri-high velocity shells, but it still worked wonders on stationary targets. Just hopefully the devs will make the names of the shells more along the lines of what they do. You know, control the confusion.

Maybe the loader is optinal just to change or maybe a new vechile ,make it a gun in a vechile(2 things in one) Also maybe on the Stug you could have both becaue there is no co-axil mg, so do cannon1 and 2.
