FuzzyBunnyTanks don't need better visibility. Tanks need worse visibility. Tanks are metal boxes with some slits cut in the side and front and some holes in the top, which are usually closed.
Exactly what I was going to say. And XWWII didn't solve the empty vehicle icon problem, they just made it invisible to both teams 100% of the time.
You can do it the PRMM way. Having the vehicals appear occupied all the time (blue), only visable to one side, but then you wont know if someone is in it or not..
MrPink Tankers, the most blind dudes in the game... let's make it easier for them.
Humm, I wouldn't say we are blind... Well this will partly change with the much anticipated end of external camera whoring, but even then it won't be THAT bad. I don't think being able to stick out the head will help much.. Tanks are blind in combat situations, and you don't even think about sticking your head out in combat situations... I can already imagine mging a Kingtiger's commander with my sherman and stealing his tank. The commander's cupola should be enough, but there should be a way so its impossible to get his tank stolen by the enemy.
In battlefield 2 you got this MAC AA vehicle. You can switch to secundair position and fire you rifle etc.
Could this lead to view hatches on the sides/rear of tanks, and pistol ports?
Komrad_Bbut there should be a way so its impossible to get his tank stolen by the enemy.
I think you should be able to jack a tank like sick a grenade in the hatch and blow him to bits.:D:naughty:
Humm wierd, I don't remember writing that, and I don't even know what I wanted to say
I remembered... I wanted to say that there should be a way to prevent friendlies from stealing the tank while the tank commander uses the cupola. I have no idea why I wrote "the enemy"..
I think you should be able to jack a tank like sick a grenade in the hatch and blow him to bits.
That would be unrealistic. The hatch was locked 90% of the time.
Frederfthey just made it invisible to both teams 100% of the time.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, IMHO. I don't see why anything but your team's actual units should show on your minimap.
And Frederf, you're getting old or something--didn't you once upon a time just instinctively disagree with me on everything? :-)
FrederfExactly what I was going to say. And XWWII didn't solve the empty vehicle icon problem, they just made it invisible to both teams 100% of the time.
I can only imagine the TK rates on a low tag server (as if it isn't bad enough already).
biznessI can only imagine the TK rates on a low tag server (as if it isn't bad enough already).
With tanks locked to enemy team, it wouldn't be that bad. With tanks unlocked, it would be an horrible mess.

Would it? Is there a way to differenciate a stolen Elefant from a german Elefant at out-of-visible-tag distance if you can't look at the map? Of course, recognizing friendly tanks is easy, and most tankers are expected to know the silouette of friends and foes, but with captured tanks this will become a terrible mess, trust me. Of course the guy in the captured tank can signal his friends the Elefant is friendly, but theres always a chance that : A. He forgets informing his friends. B. Someone with a Su76 was not in the server 5 mins ago to read it. C. Someone with a Sturmovik didn't bother reading. D. He's too busy killing people to have time to write. E. There are two Elefants in the map. With tanks locked however, this could work, but I don't really see what it would bring.
