BF2 would've had great potential with a full python library, i had posted a link in general discussion to a website where they talk about Python and importing Python files from a .zip file. If the FH Python gurus could see if it worked, it might give them an updated FULL version of python, allowing them to do more. But as it stands BF2 is limited not only because of its Bugs, but because they removed alot of original code from 1942. I mean the List of commands is almost twice as long as BF1942's...but it doesnt seem like BF2 can do alot more.

I think the FH2 devs should stop wasting they're talent on Bf2 engine.Think about Fh2 with havok physics.Kickass right?Also ragdolls are a must. BTW EA is who deserves a kick in the nuts not DICE.

and even so fall back to what ? arma ? FH2 has more players than hole arma source enginge ? doesnt work very well with planes afaik crysis ? most people wont be able to run fh2 then ...

i dont want to start the engine discussion again (we just had one internal) i just want to show that with all its flaws bugs and limitations the bf2 engine right now is the best fitting engine for the mod

Unless a new game comes out thats focused specifically on modding with the goal to create a well running platform for all computers, while at the same time delivering very user friendly mod tools, I dont see the need to switch to a new engine, the only switch i could ever see, is to 2142 to fix a few of Bf2's problems that 2142 doesnt have, but that'll never happen, because not alot of people play that either.

Sorry but I must say this! If FH2 devs would ever switch engines it should be newer Unreal Engine (or Unreal Tournament to be precise). That engine supports flying things and vehicles in common + can do very big maps which ain't really possible for example when using Source engine (I can be dead wrong because I haven't watched much about Half-life 2 scene). And the most important thing about Unreal Engine is that it is so moddable (just look at RO, not the published game but the mod version). But yeah we do understand devs aren't going to switch engines but maybe in the future when and if Forgotten Hope 3 becames true... maybe then they could possibly leave Battlefield for good.

Mr Cheese's sound pack really put a lot of "weight" into the Fh1 tanks. nothing like that heavy ripping sound of a Panther's engine starting up.
