Hi,

I know we've been down this road many times, but what it always seems to boil down to is a discussion between

-nobody should be able to use enemy tanks, especially heavy ones, as they're too complex, it never happened, etc. -people should be able to use enemy tanks, as it did happen, a tank is a tank, and anyway, what's up with snipers being able to use even their own country's tank? And anyway, it makes bailing too easy.

So, here's my proposal that I think is pretty fair, even given whatever the devs have up their sleeves for partial tank damage.

How about this: Make usage of any tanks limited to use by that nation's tank kit.

This could be pickup or spawn, depending on the map, and pickup kits should only spawn in your main base, or something similar (this would need some thinking and tweaking.) If you kill an enemy tanker and grab his kit, you'd be able to operate his country's tanks. I like this idea, as it incorporates punishment for bailers, limits use of complicated tanks, and prevents the lame phaenomenon of a pilot being able to parachute into even his own tanks. If there's a way to kill tank crews inside a tank, you'd still have the occasional ghost tank sitting around, but then it'd be up to its own team to come pick it up or fix it somehow.

And in this scenario, if you can kill tank crews, the enemy can just as easily kill the guy driving a hijacked tank with a stolen tank kit.

Opinions?

I don't like the idea of driving enemy tanks without lengthy homologation. Not realistic.

The idea sounds okay, same could go for pilots.. if it can be done.

I like the idea of the kit giving you and you alone the right to operate a vehicle (tank commander - tanks/mobile arty, pilot - planes, seaman - ships). I think, though, if FH does as suggested, does this mean we have a dude pick up an enemy tank kit at his main, hop in a jeep and run to the back to grab an enemy tank, like a KT, IS2 whatever? Or does he just drive into the enemy main looking for pickups? This "ability" may prompt kinda cheesy behavior and/or tactics. Though I do like the idea of picking up an enemy's kit when killed on the battlefield and using it. I am remembering the KT that I had an opportunity to steal last night after killing the driver... :naughty:

Btw I'm all for limiting tanks to tank crews, planes to pilots, dunno about ships though. It would prevent such nonsense as a rifleman running at you, then hopping in a nearby tank of opportunity.

But under no circumstances should team A get in and control the tanks of team B. Not realistic at all, never happened.

hopefully the kits will be locked to the other team aswell as the vehicles. so having your own teams tanker kit still should not allow you to drive an enemy tank, just your own. imo, tanks, pilots, and ships=need kit/class to operate! no more vehicle campers however, the feasiblilty of class limits in FH2 is a better solution, imo. because we will have kit campers, if kits are used rather then class limits :/ buts its still essentially the same idea.

I don't think it should be a class with a limit. Or else the class can be whored by whatever player happened to load the map first for the whole time with out risk of ever being without his tank.
