USMA2010I am! Good to see you are a mod now MG42. The 129 is overrated. Anyone who has ever played IL2 Sturmovik knows how slow these birds are. Trust me, only the most skilled of FH pilots, like MG42Maniac here, would be able to weild it with any avail at all. You are better off flying Fw-190 A-8s and IL-2s than you are in this bird.

wow, thanks for the compliment didn't see that one coming.

I actually don't like the lumbering ground attack planes. Unless the target is a heavy tank I prefer to get a Fighter and pump 20mm and 30mm cannnon into the top of the turret while in a vertical dive. Works a treat and if you have the 109g you can kill pretty much all the allied tanks as long as you hit the sweet spot a few time.

The Stuka Karnivogal (<- sp?) is damm good at killing tanks though. If the HS-129 is fitted with the 75 mm anti tank cannon which fires a 7 lbs (3.2 kg) tungsten-carbide cored projectile which even at a range of 3,280 ft (1000 m), the shell could penetrate 5 1/4 inches (133 mm)of armour if it hit square-on, so as I result you could pixel snipe enemy tanks. So you would pretty much have a Plane that would be Russian Fighter bait or a Soviet Tank Raper depending on who used it. I'd like to use it as I like any planes with rockets or AT guns, something which requires more skill than simply dropping a bomb :p

Im one if the people that has a major problem with that.

The 20mm MG151 and 30mm Mk108 were not usually loaded with AP rounds to go tank busting. For one the aircraft were needed for bomber and figher interception and two were only occasionally used as fighter bombers in Russia where the main weapon they carried were bombs.

The MG151 was a good gun and was used in hte PzII light tank, but its not a great tank busting round even firing at the roof.

The Mk108 has such low velocity thats its worthless for firing a AP round and the HE charge isnt enough to blow through the roof armor.

Only the Bf109's that carried the Mk103's would have been good tank busters but they seem to have been built in very small numbers and some claim Mk103 equipped Bf109's were never built.

I very much doubt it, seeing the Luftwaffe was concentrating on defending the German cities from the constant air raids from the RAF and USAAF, there was barely any fighter support in the west. I doubt a large ground attack plane like the HS129 would've stood a chance against the massive allied air power over France.

The last thing we need is another ground-attack aircraft. It's all I can do to keep my tank up and running on maps like El Al.

The Hs-129 was not used in the West for that reason, the Germans did not have air superiority.

Anlushac11The MG151 was a good gun and was used in hte PzII light tank, but its not a great tank busting round even firing at the roof.

Actually the MG151 was a completely different weapon to the 2cm KwK 30/38, the MG151 was designed for 15mm ammunition and entered production in 1940, later the design was adapted for 20mm ammuntion as the MG151/20 during 1941. The MG151 was withdrawn from service during 1942 and the vast majority were brought up to MG151/20 standard. The 2cm KwK 30 and KwK 38, were basically the Flak 30/38 adapted for fitment into a turret, and retained the magazine feed, whereas the MG151 and MG151/20 were belt fed.

Did the plane fly back like the cannon stuka does? If you fire it fast enough and fly slowly you can stop in mid air.

Well since this plane seems to fly slowly in the first place, itll probably just jolt your speed down a little and make you an even easier target for the aa guns...
