Im a fly boy and i was wondering if (or how close) the Airplanes in FH2 were going to be to their real life attributes in speed, maneuverability,Armorment,Dive time, etc.I think that the truer the comparative differences between combative aircraft, the better dogfights and gameplay will be.I dont think airplanes in fh2 have to stay absolutely true to their abbilities but they should be as good or as bad in certain areas compared to other aircraft. dogfights_gallery1.jpg

Well, obviously their attributes must be changed from real life to accomodate BF2's map size. However, I'm sure it is one of the, if not the top priority of the devs coding the planes to make their performance, relative to one another, accurate.

Hell I just hope there's a cure for hitting BF2's ceiling. currently you hit that and you lose control and zoom off at incredible speed... though doing that in a b-17 or better yet Grasshopper might be interesting.

i hope that theres room enough to really fly well.Sometimes it seems your trapped in this little sandbox which takes the fun out of flying. And is there a way to increase the maximum height to which you can rise.it doesnt seem accurate to fly as close to the ground as you do vanilla.A heigher ceiling would give more fun flying gameplay (ie better, more accurate dog fights)

If youve ever played flight sims like Combat Flight Simulater 3 or IL-2, they have realistic altitude and map area that allows realistic flight physics. However in a sim like IL-2 you will notice that the opposing sides will pick airfields to spawn that are only a couple of miles apart to get instant combat action. Because you can easily spend about 30 minutes flying in transit just to get where the combat is.

A thing I've noticed is that the Bf109G and Spitfire Mk.II (I think) are reversed. The spit in the game out-climbs the 109, and the 109 has a better turning radius, while it was the opposite in real life.

I have high hopes for the air game myself. Obviously the map size puts some unwelcome, but necessary, limitations on the aircraft's performance. (Particularly altitude and speed.) However the air game in FH was still pretty good, I don't think it's unrealistic to hope that it will be at least as good in FH2, and possibly even better in some respects.

I'm pretty sure BF2 (unlike BF1942) has fly areas that are bigger than the ground-pounder areas. That'll help with certain issues of space.

Not the to mention from what I remember when flying in BF2 (a very long time ago  ) they do fly at supersonic speeds - I think in FH2, if the speeds are relative to the BF2 jet ones, the maps will feel bigger anyway.

No.

Because no one agrees on how the aircraft should perform.

A perfect example is how well should a Bf109G-6 perform against a P-51B Mustang. What you will get is endless arguments and page after page arguing that the Bf109 rockewd and the Mustang was really a dog. And counterarguments that the Mustang was actually a very good aircraft and the Bf109 was obsolete by wars end.

In fact I think i will make a comparison thread for the fun of it.
