Well, I was just wondering what everyone thought about this. In BF1942 and FH1, when an explosion kills an infantryman, that soldier flies up in the air quite humorously. Now then, I found this to be funny in BF1942, but the theme/tone created by FH just didn't work with it in my opinion. Well, here's a poll to see whether people want to continue to see the flying soldiers or whether they feel it detracts from the serious tone FH generally surrounds itself in. I personally am voting no for the mere fact that Forgotten Hope is probably not meant to be funny, but rather a (fairly) accurate portrayal of World War 2.

as long as they take out the bit with grenades blowing soldiers about 20 feet into the air. there simply isnt enough explosives to do that.

Yes, that's exactly what I voted No for, to prevent the super grenade flights.

While I find it very satisfying to throw bailing tanker bodies in the air as I explode their tanks, I don't feel as if its realistic. Sure it might be funny sometimes, but it somewhat kills the ambiance to see bodies falling around you :p

Seeing a body fly up 20 stories from a BF2 arty strike is.. amusing but.. very strange.

yeah, hopefully we can change the ragdoll code to fling bodies in a less vertical mannor. Grenades and small explosives shouldnt move a person much.

I for one dont much like ragdoll pysics in general. Few games have pulled it off correctly (HL2 being one of the few I can think of). Main reason being, is that people dont just go limp when they die (most of the time) and that most game's ragdoll pysics (BF2, UT, etc etc) have the player models instantly snap into thier 'rigging stance', which means thier arms whip right out 90 degrees to thier body, which is retardidly stupid looking (hl2 just collapses the model, which looks awsome. the guy just falls over) I'll be very happy when they figure out how to bind death animations and ragdoll together, so the guy has a death animation (falling onto knees, holding wound, etc etc), then collapses into ragdoll mode

To me, BF2 totally overdoes the whole ragdoll notion. Where HL2 does it tastefull and realistically, BF2 just shoves it in our face as if to say: "LOOK AT WHAT WE INCLUDED"
