The British Long Range Desert Group drove canadian-made chevy's on long range reconnassiance missions deep into enemy territory to collect information. They also used hit and run tactics to destroy German aircraft in coordination with the SAS. The vehicles are rigged with a .303 machine gun in the back, and I think it had a .50 cal in the passenger seat. Seeing as how this game is based on the actual history of WW2, I figured this would be a good vehicle to add. But just a suggestion. What do you think? I put a picture of a model of the vehicle in the attachment.

Yes I would like to see this in FH it'd be good on desert maps or a map of its own.

Yes, but this vehicle would have other characteristics like more armor and horsepower. And I think it had 3 weapons on it, not sure what the other one was though, but definately a machine gun. Plus It'd be cool to have it in the maps. It's a neat vehicle.

I would like the Jeep the russians had and some russian trucks in place of Halftracks.

I had a model of the LRDG Chevy truck, i think the version I got had a Lewis mounted on the rear post. The LRDG was more a reconnaissance outfit, its main job was to cross areas of the desert that otherwise couldnt be traversed and observe enemy movements, or to find routes that could be used by more conventional vehicles like tanks etc. Although they did take part in raids, it wasn't their main ethos as such.

Anyone want some detailed info on the LRDG, hunt down the book 'Popski's Private Army'. PPA was an outfit similar to the LRDG and SAS that operated in North Africa and Italy, but the first half of the book deals specifically with the time the author (the eponymous Popski) spent with the LRDG. There's an especially good section dealing with a complete LRDG raid, from the trek across the desert to reach the airfield, the attack itself, escaping and being hunted down by enemy aircraft, and eventually being rescued. Fascinating stuff, and the first hand experience really adds a level of authority to the descriptions. Harry

Well, it'd be nice to add one to El Ala and experiment with it. Something that Tanks can't waste with machine gun fire.
