I was just going to send an email to the Mod development leader, but got a error message back, so I just going to say it here. Q: FH! Please include the Maus. It will pwn all! A: No; despite our justification below for other rare or OTT vehicles, the Maus barely has concrete evidence of actual use; and we reserve the right not to include this insane vehicle... there are dozens of prototype vehicles that have a better chance of making it into FH. -------------------- So you are saying that the Maus never was used.. Just weeks before the war ended the German high command was able to use TWO Maus tanks, just 2 cause they did not have enough resources for more. http://img148.exs.cx/img148/5320/albumpic7vo.jpg Here some info: Most of the life of the working Maus prototypes was in testing around Kummersdorf and at the proving grounds in Böblingen, but the V1 and V2 versions were also involved in one known mission in a combat area that ended in both tanks being over-run and captured by Soviet forces. One fully operational design and one with a dummy turret were ordered to flee the factory development complex at Kummersdorf to avoid advancing Soviet forces. One prototype, the one with a dummy turret broke down several miles away from the factory and was abandoned. The second continued further and is generally reported to have also broken down, and then destroyed by the crew who then left the area. Some sources state the second prototype was destroyed by enemy fire and not scuttled, but this has neither been proven nor disproven. And also, in Secret Weapons of WW2, you see the Americans have a super heavy tank.. T28. So I was kinda hoping for a Maus appearance in Forgotten Hope 2.

Ok no Maus.. fine. But then don't put an American super heavy tank in either.. and also no Russian super heavy tank then. Cause then it will be fair.

Super Heavy tank as in?

The most advanced American tank that will be allowed in this mod is the M26 Perishing (i believe there is a model out there for it) and for the RUssians, the IS2.

The Super Perishing wasnt built in large enough numbers and didnt see enough action to warrant inclusion, the T95....forget about it, didnt leave the States and was a complete failure as a AFV in any case. The IS-3 was built, in large numbers too, but didnt see action against german before the armistice. Some reports indicate it faught in Manchuria against the Japanese so there is possibility that it could be put in a map (although that map would be incredibly unbalanced...think about it...IS3 vs Ha-Go's and Chi-Has ..LOL)

anyway, who needs a super heavy ultra 1337 r0x0r tank when we already got the King Tiger ? As for the "Maus DID fight" thingy... 1) why would germans send a tank without a gun into combat (V1) ? 2) why would they send top secret prototypes into combat when they kept destroying all plans and all other prototypes to prevent em from falling in Soviet hands? 3) seeing the damages on the V2 (armed turret prototype), it's been clearly destroyed by heavy internal explosions, the only part that was not damaged was the turret itself. Soviets then took V1's hull and V2's turret, put em together and sent it to Moscow. Now our V1+2 hybrid is standing in Kubinka, next to a mörser Karl. Last question: where did you see any plans about putting "secret weapons" in FH ? This mod is about historical accuracy, not some "what if...?" joke. So: Maus, E100, US T-28, Brit Tortoise etc etc... no thank you.

Yeah I mean the tanks like the Maus and T95, that are super heavy tanks. M26 is a heavy tank, missed it in FH1, good that it will be in FH2. IS3 is also a heavy tank, and I thought it was used in the final days of the war?? Also I missed the Russian KV-85 in FH1, hope to see it in FH2..
