I know dial-up is slow, but this morning my connection was so slow that it took 12 secs for this page to come up.

Test yours to see if you can go slower.

No gloating here thankyou, Broadband users.

moved to tech discussion Sounds pretty quick for a dial up, broadband took about 4-5 seconds to load the page. I don't remember having to load the page with a dial up modem though. I remember when I did have dial up though I was waiting for things to load for minutes though :uhm:

Might not of been your modem's fault, on some days, it can take me on average 9 sec (approx) to load pages here on GF and i have 'dsl.

My DSL was able to load the page in two seconds.

My cable in less i think it was like 0.177 seconds or something

At various times of the day GamingForums seems to come close to a grinding halt...you can click a link to type a reply and that'll load in no time but then when you click to post...nothing...for a loooooooooong time.

I've even had it all of a sudden stop mid-page and then not be able to access the site for the next minute or two.

Ya same it may just be server activity along with you internet that brings up certain pages

On my pc, although it is farely older, the page comes up rather quick, I have high-speed dsl
