I don't like the unlocks system as it is now in BF2 - but it's a cool idea. After all, men DO get promoted and DO get better weapons in real life. So, how 'bout this: Each nation has one unlock. It is not easy to get this unlock either. Players must achieve a certain number of points in ALL seven kits BEFORE unlocking the kit. That would prevent one guy from camping with his MG34 so he could get the MG 42 upgrade... Kit suggestions by nations: British - SAS Commando - plants explosives, has a tommy gun, has pistol, American - Engineer - carries M1A2 carbine (fullauto version), 2 AT mines, 5 anti-infantry mines, wrench German - Stormtrooper - P38 pistol, STG44, 4 grenades Russian - Sniper - Carries Mosin nagant sniper, cammo, and pistol. Polish - don't know French - don't know
I thikn that SMG's should be the unlockable weapon, not MG's but the MG's should be class selection limited by about 2 or 3 men.

I have no idea where yu came up with that. People dont get better weapons as they get promoted. If you found a Thompson on the ground, and new how to use it. You can use it. Also, they were specially picked in basic based on who could fire it, etc. They dont get better weapons when your rank gets higher.
nope...its not like the regular fighting private have a more sucky weapon than the Colonel sitting the HQ...
This idea is horrible
and the unlockable smg idea sucks 100x more
No SAS or Special forces class, it sounds ghey, if special forces were in they should be in a whole map dedicated to a mission performed by that particular regiment, not just a group of SAS soldiers popping up with the Oxs and Bucks at pegasus bridge for example.
Well, its not like every private was driving a Tiger either. Here is my idea. Make the unlocks in each class be the special class that can drive heavy tanks, fly planes, etc... I was never a supporter of the "driver" class, thus not allowing regular players access to tanks, etc. But for the heavier/more expensive vehicles, there needs to be a restriction, to prevent them from being used by complete noobs.
