Since we will see a thompson in first release, ill say this. Mind you this is one book, but its just info i saw, so i'll say it. The thompson clip supposedly was only 20 rd clips, and the 30 rond clip was introduced to soilders on D-Day.(not drum) And supposedly(i doubt this) the 30 round clips jammed and fell out a lot. Im sure that isnt true because they must of tested clips. I think the suggestion i'm getting at about ammo clip amount is obvious.

Those FH2 magazines have 20 rounds.

*For future reference*

A clip is a device that is used to store multiple rounds of ammunition together as a unit, ready for loading a repeating firearm. This speeds up the process of loading the firearm as several rounds can be loaded at once, rather than one round being loaded at a time.

A magazine (also called a mag or, commonly but incorrectly, a clip) is an ammunition storage and feeding device within or attached to a firearm. Magazines may be integral to the firearm (fixed) or removable (detachable).

Not to be critical, but I think everyone knew what he meant, but yeah, i think most NA Thompsons had 20 Rnds, or else the 50 round magazine, which was used by mobs and others in the 20's and 30's.

30 round magazines were too heavy and often fell out.

I remember I saw a History Channel episode, and they said how Brits bought a lot of THompsons with the Drum Mags. And the soldiers took care of theirs a lot, cuz they were so expensive. But yeah, the currect stick mag for the FH2 Thompson is a 20round one. You can tell by its size, and it was discussed in that news update a long time ago.

During the reloading animation for the Thompson in FH1, it is the 20 round magazine. But when you look in external view, it is actually the 30 round.

Indeed, before the invasion in 1944 only the 20 round magazine versions were issued (aside from drum ones) and even those newly introduced, capable of carrying 30 rounds were mostly incapable of this. I doubt that Ambrose, director of Eisenhower Center and National D-Day Museum in New Orlean having access to countless storys from soldiers would be wrong on this one. Soldiers did not load the full 30 set (20 too instead) to avoid eventuall jamming, and more certain magazine dropping out. Imo it should be also done this way in FH2. It doesn't affect gameplay much anyway, I applied this change in my Attack on Carentan map and you can't tell it brought any inbalance to the gameplay, during betatesting Lgihtning haven't even noticed the change for weeks untill I've told him.

Your tommies have 20 rounds?! I agree with the 20 rounders, they work pretty well, gameplay wise in COD2 (gameplay, NOT realism). Odd how they just didnt find a was to deal with the problems by just grabbing a 50 round tommy and giving them 30 round mags or drums. Hmm..that gives me an idea, must get me a patent.;)
