ok, i know this is a SoF2 help forum, BUT i thought, im registered here so i may as well post it here then go looking for another forum, seeing I need help now. I just reformatted my comp and reinstalled XP, now i don't have sound, no sound icon in taskbar, when i go to control panel and check for sound, i cant adjust drivers there, and i dont think i have the drivers now. Anyone know where i can get the sound drivers or another way to fix this problem:micro:
Download the drivers off the card makers website.

Go to system properties. Does the computer recognize the soundcard? Have you run Windows Update yet?
more detail, Rclick mycomputer, go to hardware tab, click device manager, look for your sound card(not sound game and video), most likely it sounds right now that it will have a yellow ? mark next to it. right click on it and look for a drivers tab, read it and then try update driver button, if you OS can find a good one to istall then follow SirPaul and use the manufacturers most likely self installing drivers or follow the whole procedure here again and direct OS to the sownloaded drivers. hope this helps
do u have creative diagnostics? If so then go to that and run the test then fix. If not then i'm afraid i don't know what to do...
