And don't forget that contrary to BF42's engine, BF2's one doesn't allow most of us to ride a flying casket. So a BoB type map would just drop 3/4 of the players off a server.

But would still be fun for rest of them :) I always regret that fh 0.7's maps like bob, bombing the reich, etc. were hard to find in the mapcycle :/ Maybe there should be more action on that maps for those who can't fly? Oh, I'm sure few bofors guns will attract people ;)

The Problem with Arial Maps is

A.) Planes often Require alot of Practice to get used to

B.) It was always "destroy this target" there was never any Conquest Element in it, Command Posts in the sky.

C.) There was never enough planes, and you'd sit around waiting for one.

D.) It Wasn't funny enough, I know I know "archi what?" With Refractor 2's limitations, the inability to blow off my opponents wing or destroy his engine and watch him spin out of control towards the ground in a burning fireball, makes blowing up a plane, that much less spectacular. Its like BOOM, yay....

E.) There is always the smacktardish bitch that doesnt wanna play the map, and would just bomb his own airfield, or steal and crash all the aircraft.

F.) You Spent more time Flying and looking for your enemy, instead of actually fighting him.

My Recipe for a good Arial map is this:

1.) Put Arial Command Posts, invisible, but viewable on the map, with a semi large radius that airplanes would actually have to fight over. 2.) Make the map big, but not so big that You spend your time looking for someone as opposed to fighting them, The enemy aircraft should be right in your face to begin dog fighting immediatly. 3.) It would be nice to eliminate the need to take off at all, by spawing in the air flying, although this is not truly possible with BF2.:uhm: 4.) PLENTY OF PLANES, why is it whenever somebody makes an arial map that it takes FOREVER for the planes to spawn? One should be spawing as soon as the last one gets out of the hangar. 5.) Make big fireballs! 6.) View Distance view Distance view distance, FOR CHRISTS SAKE PEOPLE FOG SUCKS ON ARIAL MAPS 7.) Good Admin 8.) Mix and serve with milk.

Well, then they shall switch to the british and get their asses into a anti-air bren or something. Or try to build a railway gun as germans..
