I would like to have the explosions changed! A normal jeep doesnt explode, if it aint hit in the fuel box. So please remove this long range explosions from jeeps, mgs, empty mortars etc... Tanks, hm they can explode but imo in 50% of the cases or more they didnt. So maybe for bf2 there could be "random tank explosion", to make it exploding in only a certain percentage in case of destruction. also i think any static can shouldnt explode, cause the one bullet that might be loaded in the barrel, usually doesnt cause the whole gun to blow up with everything around, when the gun is destroyed by a hit from some shell! What i think might have a bigger explosion is stuff like ammotrucks. I made this post without searching for older, similiar ones sry. So if this is doubleposting delete it then.

I agree. Also transport trucks shouldn't explode instantly when hit by a tank shell or bazooka. They should just start burning for 5-10 seconds(so that the passengers can get out) and maybe then explode.

Yeah, and when a tank gets hit, there must be holes from the shells.. at least if the armor gets penetrated.

p.s. Even if you shoot the fuel tank of a jeep it won't explode. It will catch on fire but that is it. Exploding is for movies.

it doesn't have to explode in order to disappear. it can gradually become less detailed and smaller, and in the end there will only be dust left. This would cause the wrecks that has been around for some time to require little extra system power, but still improve the ambience. TTL should be in the several minutes-area.

Excellent point, and the best reason for not changing. As for whether it happed historically, I do recall the Bulge film footage of an American position under shellfire, which shows a panicked GI driving a jeep, clearly burning in and around the fuel tank, as he moves toward the camera, and then apparently jumps out an instant before i(from burning fuel). But gasoline-powered vehicles (Shermans, jeeps) will almost certainly explode at some point if the fuel ever catches fire, which doesn't automatically happen even when hit by HE shell.
