"The original one"

Okay, so I was sitting on the toilet, minding my own business when I came up with this ( crazy ) idea: How odd is it that a normal soldier, can suddenly hop in a tank, airplane or boat and is instantly able to use it to it's full use?
If I remember correctly, back in those days, you got a training for the particulair object you were moving, flying, or moving ( whatever you call movement with a boat ).
Not every Joe who was enlisted in the army got these trainings, since there was a need for cannon fodder as well, which made up the infantry task.
My suggestion is, to make vehicles respond different on kits: meaning, a ordinairy infantry soldier will not be able to use a tank to it's full capacity ( slower reloading times - soldier is clumsy with loading the shells, slower movement - soldier needs to adjust to moving the tank, etc ), whilest a tank commander ( who had training in use a tank ), will be able to fully make use of the tank ( quick reloading times, good fluid movement, etc ).
Hopefully this will prevent things like seeing anti-tank infantry suddenly pop out of a tank, or a panzershreck fallschrimjager jumping out of a bf109.
I am not saying that there should be a huge difference between classes or kits, but there still should be a noticable one, atleast enough noticable to make people decide if they should really risk entering that tank as a riflemen or continue on foot.
Slightly cooler than a n00b

thats a good idea but thats just me
This has been the discussed alot lately. I think the general feeling is that tanks should be locked to everyone but tankers, (large)ships to sailors, and aircraft to pilots. I'm not sure if anyone has said wether this is going to happen or if it's even possible but I've got to agree. Tanks should be for tankers, and aircraft for pilots. The only things that the infantry should be able to use are utility vehicles (trucks, jeeps, APCs, etc) and landing craft.

I do like this idea, Nighthawk's even more. This, along with no tanks spawning anywhere but mainbases, locked advanced vehicles, would make me a very, very happy person.

i can see where your coming from, but i hate the idea

I prefer Nighthawk's idea. You see, the skill of someone should be determined by its real skills, not by nerfed kit skills. We are the players, we are good if we are good and we suck if we suck, we shouldn't have our skills or weaknesses nerfed by kits or things like that. The point of a game is that we control what happens, everyone starts at the same level and is good or bad depending on his reflexes, knowledge of the field and cunning. I don't want to have an advantage or disadvantage because of such a thing.
I like to lurk

Yes. I agree. Although, how would infantry hop on the back seats of tanks, or maybe even the gunner positions? Could it be done?

I actually dont get it why different classes cant have different abbilities in different vehicles.
If you choose to be a sniper or a engineer instead of a tanker, its a part of your roll at the battlefield that you cant use all the funktions in a tank 100 %.
But still, you can jump into a tank to defend yourselves, but you will for example have a slower rate of fire.
Personally, i really appriciate that you could use all the equipments at the battlefield, like in FH.7, cause if the devs locks the tanks from everyone exept tankers, i think the battlefield is gonna end up with only tankers and pilots, waiting for his tank or plain, becaus otherwise, he is useless at the battlefield.
If all classes is given the oppertunity to drive all vehicle, more players is gonna choose the assultclass... I think... :)
I take what n0e says way too seriously

"waiting for his tank or plain, becaus otherwise, he is useless at the battlefield."
A sad state of affairs when even our grammatically challenege realize that it's tank/plane or useless.
You won't have everyone spawning as tankers or pilots because not everyone will be able to. And that is a fact as far as I know. The classes WILL be limited.
