As there have been two releases of BF² mods these days, theres one thing that annoys me and quite a few others as hell.
The voice commands, like when you spot someone or a flag is taken and so on are spamming the whole sound. Actually, i was short of killing myself today on a round of US-I with 64 players with a commander who swallowed a box of coffeine pills and then topped it off with a gallon of expresso.
There should be a way to mute players earlyer (i.e. after 3 commands in 2 seconds) and it should be more local, especially as in WWII not every soldier had a radio.
So, to the FH Devs, please, pretty please with sugar on top, if theres anything smart you can do about it, please do it.
Those annoying voices are destroying all the atmosphere in the game. Also, it destroys any VOIP or TS Communication with your squad.
So true, but its usually the commander doing it, with his "enemy infantry spotted", when the UAV is somewhere else. But since i dont think the FH2 commander can spot like that.. we should be largely okay. Players themselves can spam too.. but its much less, and i hope to see that they keep their "spotting" ability, the one that keeps enemy units on the minimap for a short while.
I agree, how can you hear some grunt half way across the battlefield.
True, it's not realistic, but won't removing it have serious impact on working as a team?
You can nerf the actual "hearing", i dont mind. BF2 already does that.. you cant hear someone say "ammo, here" if you are 30 meters away. However, people will get hurt if the spotting ability of the individual players gets nerfed... and it isnt gonna be me! >: (
lose it!!!! no spam, no radar, nice quiet explosions and gunfire plz
Heh, first time I've ever heard this one...
omgz nurf teh earz!!!1 It might be realistic, but it would butcher gameplay. Besides, how do you create radios then, so that tanks can communicate with eachother?
Hearing voice commands across the battlefield, well, eh.
Having text macros (enemy armor spotted!) that make the sender flashy blinky, well, unrealistic, but gameplay good. It's NOT real, it's a game.
Putting radios in tanks, though (when appropriate), would rock. Hardcore. Here's a separate suggestion on how to deal with it:
Anyway, my main beef isn't with the radio commands per se, but with the frickin commo rose.
If the radioman can, say, call in an artillery strike...
Fuzzy has a damn good point. This is just a game, and no matter how hard you try it will always be a game. If you want extreme realism, just follow me over to the land of World War II Online...
I completely feel your pain wales, I hate it how when you play, are littely over runned with ''Enemy Tank spotted!'', ''Enemy Tank spotted!'', ''Enemy Tank spotted!'', ''Enemy Tank spotted!'', ''Enemy Tank spotted!'',''Enemy Tank spotted!'', ''Enemy Tank spotted!''.
Not only pisses me off, but also makes it's inpossible to cleary hear what everyone is saying on teamspeak.
I think the best thing to do is removing global voice commands for all players and only make it possible to use voice commands when your in a squad but only for that squad, a exception to this rule should be the commander ofcourse. Squad Leaders should be able to communicate with other squadleaders with voicecommands only squadleaders need to hear, this applies for the commander as well.
Hopefully Dice will add a feature which enables you to mute specific people in-game to stop overspamming voice commands.
