Good day, fh freaks, one thing i am really missing in fh is the Waffen SS and especially their uniforms with the stripe with the Divisions name on it. Many of the FH battles were mainly fought by them(prochorovka, many maps in france), so its not very realistic to play wehrmacht soldiers all the time. I know there are allready some SS uniforms to be found on some FH custom maps at filefront, so maybe Devs- have a look at it and maybe import them. http://battlefield1942.filefront.com/file/FH_SS_Radar_Post_Take_Out;41537

AFAIK the Wehrmacth was the name of all of the German Armed Forces, including the Waffen SS. I think you mean the Heer (army) uniform. But anyway, you have a point there. But maybe the anti-nazi laws in Germany makes the SS uniforms illegal? I dont realy know...

they made the rune "SS" illegal, but in fh it would be so small, that you couldnt identify it, only guess :P and you are correct, the Waffen SS is subordinated to the Wehrmacht, but only on the paper. I mean they and their commanders usually could do what the Reichsf├╝hrer SS Himmler wanted them to do, since Himmler was as close to hitler as noone in the Wehrmacht

Agree :nodding:

Waffen SS skins would be good on Prokhorovka and on some french maps. SS had better unforms (cammo) than Heer.

The SS- and Nazi symbols like the Skull and the "Hakenkreuz" (hooked cross) are definetely illegal in Germany. But the Hakenkreuz is part of the FH realism mod and i guess many germans installed it anyway. I think there's no problem if its possible to install it or not or activate the mod or not you can remove it everytime when you have to do so and thats the point. So SS uniforms could be introduced in FH realism but not in main FH. But the Devs should add a text at the installation of FH realism that they're some symbols included wich may be illegal in some countries (like Germany) and that Germans will install it at their own risk or something like this and the user has to accept. So finally it won't be illegal to play FH in Germany but FH realism is wacky.gif

As far as I know, Waffen-SS was a separate organization, but until the very end of the war it was operating under the command of OKW. Later in the war Himmler however got what he wished for and got Waffen-SS solely under his command.

So...basicly: The SS were not defined under the Wehrmacht, but still were under the command of der Oberkommando Wehrmacht?!
