If we all look in the past their was a modification for BF:1942, Action Battlefield that introduced sandstorms. Imagine what submersion and action you would have if a strong sandstorm hit your main flag or, a heavy rain shower on Kursk?
I dont know but its capable, he done it and his team, so can you Forgotten Hope.
Weren't there sandstorms in Desert Rose that had to be removed cause of glitchiness? I don't remember for sure, but sandstorms would be a cool thing to put in desert maps, and if you wanted to have blizzards on the Eastern Front (just color the sand white:D) that would be cool as well. You could really put the storm into "The Storm" :nodding:
ActionBF simply used an alpha channel to draw "weather" on your hud. It was nothing more then a moving bitmap. If you want real weather, play the new Foy, it has "real" snow that's actually rendered in 3D space, unlike ActionBF's alpha channel.
As far as Desert Rose goes, last time i played it, it still had that sandstorm in it

Where is it? I've been completely unable to find it.
Also, can we actually find a way to apply weather effects? Maybe vehicles traveling slower, or not starting? It happened a lot to the Germans on the Eastern Front. Reduced FOV is a given obviously, but maybe take it one step further and have name tags a lot harder to see or something like that.
In Desert Rose you can't find the desert storm, it has to find you.;) I would love to see rain in some Forgotten Hope maps.
There's also a sandstorm on Supercharge, I think, but it is real small, at the beginning of the game I believe it starts a few tens of feet onward from the end of the German's main base's runway. I often fly through it as I take off in the Ju-52. I'm not quite sure that it has a fixed starting position. They are cool though.
Easily answered question: If the devs can do snow on foy, can they do rain at all?
Desert Rose... Supercharge.... all sound like boring african maps to me so i don't even know which one i am talking about.
There is a sandstorm over the minefield on the south part of the map, next to Axis airfield. It's on the map where there aren't ships/subs. You figure out which map it is, cause i call both of those maps under one name: "boring"
As far as weather physical effects, as evident from Interstate mod, different material surfaces (road, grass, sand, etc) can have different fraction. In that mod, you get perfect control of your car while on the highway, but the moment your drive off the road, you start spinning and skidding out of controll.
I'd love to see this implemented more into FH

Sure but that would mean all buildings should be closed since the rain goes rigth through statics. The reason why Foy has no buildings that you can enter is because the devs don't like you to see it snows (or in yur case would rain) inside.
You could make two kind of buildings, some would be closed and some others open but with the roof torn apart or full of holes, to justify why it's raining inside.
