The Pe-8 was a good design for its time and IIRC made the first night raids on Berlin. There were inline engine versions, a diesel engined version, and a radial engine version. It was also unique in that it had manned defensive MG's mounted in the back of each inboard engine nacelle.

These are pics of a model but have lots of good views of a Pe-8 with the inline engines. http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/ModelArticles/Duffy/Pe8/index.php

The main problem was that the Soviets had no plans for Strategic bombing at the time. Only 82 were made and one served as a transport flying Molotov from Moscow to Washington.

On one hand I would love to see it in game but on the other most FH maps are too small for 4 engined bombers.

I would rather see a Soviet Pe-2 or a Tu-2. Both were used extensively in WW2.

Do you think- since I guess four engined bombers are a little too big- they might be able to use the B-25 Mitchell a bit more? There were quite a good number produced (10,000 some), and they saw a decent bit of action in every theatre. Also, the Brits had quite a few of 'em too, so that gives the devs all the more reason to stick it in.

If we're talking practical I say the Mosquito or Bristol Blenhein. If we're day dreaming then the The Italian Piaggio P.108 B I know it wasn't really used much in the war but she's just so pretty Piaggio108.jpg

The B-25 didnt make its first appearance with Brits til right after El Alamein.

The B-25 was the workhorse of the USAAF in the PTO, MTO, and CBI. The B-25 was replaced by the B-26 in the ETO. B-26's were also used in MTO.

It seems A-20 and Mosquito's repalced Blenheims.

B-25 replaced Wellington.

well lets hope FH2 will have large maps, so the b-24 can assume the rol like the B-17 does. ahhh...forgot about th B-29, WIP. unless they stoppped. but now if we could have larger maps now we can have actual decent bombing run maps such as bomb the japs with b-24's and B-29s and then the germans can battel the B-17's while over germany with P51 and P47 escort.
