Okay, I'm new to the forum, but not FH or WWII history. Here is some things I think should be included in FH (I understand this is long, but I think that many of them could be in by 1.0): Archer: A British self-propelled anti-tank gun; armed with the highly effective 17 pounder gun. Used in the north-west European campaign. Churchill AVRE (Armoured Vehicle Royal Engineers): A Churchill fitted with a large demolition mortar JU-87G "Stuka": Later in the war, some Stukas were refitted with 37mm anti-tank guns. Used very effectively on the Eastern Front. 25 pounder howitzer- The main British howitzer of the war. PAK-43- There is already a Flak-36 in the game, but later in the war the low-mounted PAK-43 was used. It was a smaller target, but it could not be used for air-defense. DUKW- Very common in northwestern Europe, a GMC "Deuce-and-a-Half" made for amphibious operations. M3 Grant- A stop-gap measure before the M4 Sherman, instead of having a 75mm gun in the turret it had it in the hull, the turret was instead armed with a 20mm. Mainly used in North Africa. M-26 Pershing- Although only used late in the war, it was clearly one of the best tanks. 90mm gun, low profile and heavy armor made it a true MBT. Could be added to Alpenfustung..... FW-200 Condor- The only truly effective German long-range bomber, used in Armed Maritime Patrol. My suggestion on this is to have it used like the Betty in many Pacific maps. Horses- Both the Russians and Polish used cavalry effectively in battle, and the Germans used their horses like they did the Opel Blitz. I have no clue how you would create the phyisics for it, though. Hummel- A German self-propelled gun mounting a 1.5 cm howitzer, very powerful. Used a chassis using the best parts of the Panzer III/IV chassises Hetzer- A German panzerjaeger (tank destroyer) fitted with relatively light armor and a PAK-40. Available in significant numbers, it was considered also one of the better German vehicles of the war. C-47- The American paradrop vehicle. Used extensively throughout America's involvement. KV-85- A Russian heavy tank, after the KV-1 and before the IS-2. Had much heavier armor than the T-34/85, but used the same gun. Mauser Broomhandle- Used exclusively by German officers, the Mauser fired a 7.62 round. Very powerful; the holster doubled as a stock. Me-210/410- Heavy German fighter, much more powerful and slightly faster than the Bf-110. Some 410s were fitted with a 50mm gun that could take out any airplane with one shot, but it fired slowly. Panzer I- A German machine gun carrier, armed with two MG-34s. Although terribly obsolote (it was in fact inferior to the Renault M1917 tank of World War I), it was with out a doubt common early in the war. M4A3 HVSS- The final wartime production model of the Sherman, had a high-velocity 76mm. There is a 76mm ingame, but it is a modified A1 version. Also, the gun is actually different in the A3 than the A1/76mm. M12 Self-Propelled gun- Although not particularly common, it was still one of the most effective SP guns of WWII. It was armed with a 155mm gun. M8- An American 75mm pack howitzer fitted in a turret on a Stuart chassis. Used throughout the war in Europe and Asia. SU-85- A common 85mm SP gun used by Russia, based off the T-34/85. ISU-152- Although there are many SUs and ISUs self-propelled guns used by Russian in World War II, I think that this just has to take the cake. Using the extremely powerful 152mm anti-tank gun, there was no used German tank of the war that could survive it, even the King Tiger's frontal armor. If this was in FH, the Germans would be all :0wned: Sten Mk 2S/5S- This is the Sten submachine gun fitted with a Maxim-pattern silencer. It would be useful for a Commando map (I would LOVE a Commando map) DeLisle Carbine- A silenced .45 ACP caliber carbine, using a modified Lee-Enfield action. Same use as the Sten Mk 2S/5S. Flammpanzer III- A Panzer III, but using a flamethrower instead of a 50mm gun. Churchill Crocodile- The flamethrower version of the Churchill, replacing the front MG. Had a trailer to hold the fuel. M16 Halftrack- An M3 halftrack, but instead of a troop compartment had a quad-M2 machine gun mount. Very powerful and effective. FG-42 ZF- Although it was far less common than the already sparse FG-42, the scoped version definitely saw service. Could be treated like the StG-44 ZF. Browning M1917A1- A medium water-cooled machine gun, direct predecessor to the M1919. Saw plenty of service in the war. Browning M1919A3- A version of the M1919 medium machine gun with a stock, could be used by one man from the shoulder. T-34 Calliope- A rocket-launcher mount for the M4 Sherman, used 60 4.6 in rockets. Jagdtiger- A tank destroyer version of the King Tiger, this German tank had even heavier armor than the King Tiger and a 128mm gun. Panzerschiff- German ships of the Deutschland class, armed with 6 12 in. guns in two triple-mount turrets. MINOR EDITS TO THE GAME: M10- Open top with an M2 should be included. They did not have a closed metal top. Katyusha- This one is interesting, but there should be a special NKVD class to use them. In the war, only NKVD manned them to retain their secrecy. Universal Carrier WITH a Bren Gun: Why does the famous "Bren Gun Carrier" not have a Bren Gun on it? Sherman Jumbo- The armor on it is realistic, but in the war it used the same low-velocity 75mm gun as other early Shermans. Again, I am not requesting these any time quickly, as this list is LONG and it would take much time to make, but I would like to see at least the most of them ingame by 1.0. Thanks FH team for the mod anyway! You guys rock! (RVO) Longbow PWNS you.
well for all we know all that mite be put in or it mite not we will just have to wait and see
I read your suggestions and a few of those things are already ingame
Just some news for you - 0.7 for BF1942 FH is coming out soon. Don't ask exactly when. Anyways, 0.7 is the last release for BF1942 FH, meaning no more new content will be added. Next up, BF2 FH2 is being developed and will take a long time before we get the first version, which focuses on the North African theater. Don't ask exactly when or approximately when. If your ideas aren't currently in FH, then you can only hope to see them in FH2.
um that was what he was asking for cant you read better yet read it all first then you can post
good ideas, but the m3 grant had a 37mm gun in the turret not 20mm, but i would really like to see it I think the broomhandle mauser chambered 7.63mm rounds but that might be a different version and this also i would like to see, especially with the fully automatic ability. the bren gun carrier does have a bren gun some of the time, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it has a damned annoying PIAT which explodes you when you fire it i'm not to sure about the kv-85 not to many were produced and they were soon replaced by the Ioesf Stalin tanks
(RVO) Longbow JU-87G "Stuka": Later in the war, some Stukas were refitted with 37mm anti-tank guns. Used very effectively on the Eastern Front. 25 pounder howitzer- The main British howitzer of the war.
This already exists, I think in Prokhorovka and The Storm. Great fun, too.
M3 Grant- A stop-gap measure before the M4 Sherman, instead of having a 75mm gun in the turret it had it in the hull, the turret was instead armed with a 20mm. Mainly used in North Africa.
Great idea, the model in Road to Rome stank. I'd love to see a nice Grant for North Africa
FW-200 Condor- The only truly effective German long-range bomber, used in Armed Maritime Patrol. My suggestion on this is to have it used like the Betty in many Pacific maps.
I would love to see a North Atlantic convoy type map (1 aircraft carrier, 2 destroyers, loads of subs, Condors, maybe some S-boats and the Prinz Eugen or something, attacking robot cargo ships like the Ju52 in Cretan Village.) Condors would be awesome.
C-47- The American paradrop vehicle. Used extensively throughout America's involvement.
Exists on Market Garden (weird spawn conditions though) and a few other maps, I believe. I'd like a D-Day map with C-47s though.
Sten Mk 2S/5S- This is the Sten submachine gun fitted with a Maxim-pattern silencer. It would be useful for a Commando map (I would LOVE a Commando map)
And some LRDG maps as well. Raid on Nazaire would be cool too!
Browning M1919A3- A version of the M1919 medium machine gun with a stock, could be used by one man from the shoulder.
Ugh--the spawning MG42 kits are bad enough already--all MG kits must be deployable only! :-)
T-34 Calliope- A rocket-launcher mount for the M4 Sherman, used 60 4.6 in rockets.
Exists in Secret Weapons, would be great to see.
Katyusha- This one is interesting, but there should be a special NKVD class to use them. In the war, only NKVD manned them to retain their secrecy.
Never heard that one before--those things were so numerous, it's hard to keep a massive load of rockets secret 8)
Universal Carrier WITH a Bren Gun: Why does the famous "Bren Gun Carrier" not have a Bren Gun on it?
Gold Beach and a few others have this. Desert Rose has one with a PIAT. I agree though, unarmed Bren carriers are lame. Your other suggestions for equipment (esp. the Pershing for Alpenfestung and the AVRE) are pretty cool.
(RVO) Longbow, i dont put many requirements in people posting on this forum, but one is that they actually play and know the game!
And for the Open m10, check the FH news archive. I think it even has a teddy bear on it, specially for you :D
Yes as stated above many of your idea's are already implemented in the mod. :)
Also Crusader II, it was in north africa. Shouldn't be in added or have I missed something?
