my dad just got a compaq presario 2190us laptop. he has to have windows 98 to run a program for work. i reformatted the harddrive and booted of a windows 98 cd. i can install most of it, but right after i put in the product key a goes to the blue screen. is it possible to put 98 on a new computer? thanks

yea, maybe the cd is invalid, or fake? not sure , but if you have a legit copy of win 98 it should work fine.. *will try to get some answers for you soon*.

Some laptops don't support Win9x anymore in the BIOS. It's uncommon but you should check with Compaq on this issue.

As the Compaq Presario 2190us laptop has a 2.4 processor,you will need to update the ndis file.98 doesn't natively support processor speeds over 2 gigs.

if you need it i can send it to you via e-mail.

but it can be also found at microsoft downloads.
