Hi, I have just installed a Belkin cable/dsl wireless router. The main pc that has the cable connection is connected through wired to the router while my pc is conncted through a wireless card to the router. WHen doing network places to share HDD, my wireless pc can see the HDD of the wired pc, but the wired pc cant see my HDD though I have done the same thing. Also the PC's can not play LAN games unless the cable modem is on and internet working which is weird. The two computers can ping -t each other fine so Im lost !! Thanks for help.
Are the same protocolls installed on both machines? (IPX/SPX TCP/IP) Are you running the same OS om both? If you are using a firewall on either machine, you might need to run "Safe zone", or something similar, to grant the connection access.
Main one is xp pro, mine is xp home. Both windows have xp firewalls off, not sure about protocols but I think they are the same :)
I take what n0e says way too seriously

Please tell me you didn't just say you don't have a firewall. People like that shouldn't be allowed to have computers.
LOL the router has a firewall that is enabled :)
The router firewall isnt really that impressive, I would reccomend you use a software package.
Check the protocolls in properties of your "Local Area Connection". In the same place, check "Files and printer sharing".
File and Printer Sharing are on . It a bit weird, sometimes I can access the main pc HDD and sometimes it restricts me.
