Then shouldn't the devs also do it for every other Pacific map? Saipan was a pretty big island too, and I'm sure we all agree we're due for a much better Iwo Jima map. Does anyone else think they should make several maps for all the major island battles, or do you think they just need to make them bigger (at least for 64 players anyways).

I would like to see Pacific maps broken up. When the map features the whole island the gameplay can be really boring and lacks the close up firefights which was the norm in the Pacific. I think maps that feature islands should have two or maybe more maps made based on them, have like a landing map where you have ships and have to take a beachhead and one or two more flags inland. Then there should be another map based on more inland fighting.

The major island battles will definitely need to be broken into several maps. The whole island thing in FH1 was nothing but DICE stupidity. For example Guadalcanal is over 4000 km2 in area, it's simply pathetic that an island that is only 1 km2 represents the huge island of Guadalcanal. The fighting at Guadalcanal lasted for six months, so there is room for many different battles. All the bigger islands like Saipan, Makin, Okinawa and Iwo Jima must be broken into several maps. But some smaller islands like Wake could still be on one map, just make them slightly bigger. For example an ideal Saipan map should be like Gold Beach, because thats how the fighting happened there. The allies could freely land on the beach and they only met resistance inlands.

For midway i think the fh team keep the map, but for the other pacific map(many of them) I think, it will be nice to separate them. Guadalcanal, invasion of the phillipine, adak island, Iwo Jima and battle for makin, but for Wake, coral sea, tarawa, midway and battle isle dont separate them...

I say keep Battle Isle, Wake (please change the time of day back to noon, please), Makin, Coral Sea, and Adak. My reason for these is that it gives the sort of over-all feeling you would get, and since you have hundreds of tickets and it shows the whole island it gives a strategic view of the battle. This way you simulate months of fighting on Wake, and having to hold out against an American/Japanese siege.

They probably wont be able to do this for every island.. but then again, they dont have to. Just add the island + maps that will add something to the mod.

I think maps like Guadacanal and Iwo Jima definently need to be split up, but smaller island maps like Midway and Tarawa are fine as they are.

Gudalcanal, definently, that wasn't the only battle in the Solomon Islands. Same with Iwo Jima, definently needs to be re-done. Maybe have bases on the islands around it like Ani Jima, and Chichi Jima.

I dont have it anymore but I made a map that had the northern half of Guadalcanal and it was on a Coral Sea sized map. It was big enough to have all the major battle areas but the land mass wasnt so big as to get lost on it.

I also had Tulagi to the North and at opposite end was a Small island for a Jap airfield and a anchorage point for Jap ships.
