from what i understand (and what is required by the geneva convention) medics durring the second world war were seldom armed. will they be in FH2? more importantly, SHOULD they be armed? and if they are not armed, will there be a penalty for shooting them?

IMO, medics should have a weapon, so they can defend themselves. Not like in Bf2 where they are basically assaults who have infinite health and can heal other players. See http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=233469 for more info

They need weapons but the medics weapon should be limited, maybe just a pistol or a rifle. and medics were armed with light weapons in ww2, maybe they werent isued 1 but they got 1 anyway.

Actually, like i earlier on explained, they where ALWAYS armed. Why? Because soldiers simply treated them like any other enemy soldier. In other words they would fire upon them.

And Russia for example never agreed to the Geneva Convention. Believe me, you would be, as a medic, be better of dead then being captured by the Russians. Sure it was risky to carry a weapon while being a medic but most medics did it because they didnt like the thought of being shot at. Also if anyone want some WW2 medic related links then please say so. I am more then happy to provide some links. :)

A pistol for medics would be acceptable, though a random change of spawning without for historical accuracy wouldn't be too bad. In such a case we could give them a bigger medical supply to compensate.

I wonder what the medic will look like, I hope it will have proper uniforms and insignia. This would also depent on army, location, date and even unit but that aside part of the medics should come in the official costume of a large white overshirt, white helmet etc. They would stand out a lot more though, which me probably should comensate also , but how?

Perhaps a bigger punishment for teamkilling a medic, even if not on purpose?

Since they stand out so much, the should be more easier to spot.

Maybe, but I was also thinking about how we should keep medics from playing Duckshoot (and them being the ducks, sitting ducks).
