This was brought up before the last beta, and it still is unbalanced as hell.
Better position (closer to flags and much closer to the hill, with a path on THEIR side to get up the hill). Better equipment all around (2pdrs are just too f*cking powerful at ultra long range. 40mm would lose its intertia and kinetic energy at half of view distance if based on the same scale as other FH things. Thompson is ridiculous, No.4 > K98, Hurricaines are bombers AND fighters which means allies have 2 bombers and 2 fighters, while axis has 1 bomber and 1 fighter)
Axis have NOTHING. NO ADVANTAGES. PLEASE give early war Axis some damn love. There's nothing there. Nothing. The PIV F2 series STILL dies to 1 2pdr from ultra long range, which is sadly unrealistic. They called it a 2pdr becuase the shell weighed about 2 pounds. Now, 2 pounds is NOT going to carry kinetic energy that far. It should bounce off Axis armor at long range.
PLEASE, take away the Hurricaines and give them a P-40 with no bombs. They dont need the bombs, they already have major ground superiority. Axis needs more tanks, and there needs to be a look at 2pdr code. Its a 40mm shell, which isn't large enough to destroy a Panzer IV in one hit even if it DOES penetrate.
And why in the hell is there a CHURCHILL there? Its completely overkill. There's no reason for the most armored tank for Britain to be pitted against the sad, sad early war Axis unless the devs are just laughing at us.
Axis could use some mobile AA as well.
This map COULD be cool, but it ends up being retarded. The Minefield does NOTHING but bottleneck the already shitty axis tanks into a nice little alley where 1 Matilda II can sit there and kill them as they come through. It hardly makes it a challenge for the planes to find the tanks either.
This isn't frustrated griping, this is fact. Look it up. Play the map. Axis are just plain shit and they need to get some help (early war).
I disagree. Panzer IV F2s have the strongest AT weapons available on a tank and 2 pounders can only get one hit kills if they hit weak spots and if you want to take advantage of the 2 pounder it's woefully useless against Anti tank artillery. It takes 5 shots to kill a pak at least and it's almost useless against infantry. Take advantage of that.
Its a TANK MAP. And stationary guns are just coffins with firepower. If the 2pdr hits the wall BEHIND the AT gun, you die. Why?
2pdrs didn't have HE availible.. I don't see why it would explode.
Yet, it has the same splash as any other AT gun.
The Panzer IV F2 does NOT have the most powerful AT gun availible on a tank. The Churchill does. The F2 gun can't even kill a Matilda II in 2 hits. I shot one at 30 yards 3 times with a stationary 88 and it didn't die. There is a problem with the code.
Secondly, put a Panzer IV at the max view distance and fire the 2pdr. You will kill it no matter where you hit. Hell, even right next to it you don't need to aim for anything. Just shoot it and its dead. Try it and see.
Add a Marder III
The were in time for El Alamien and may have been in Africa in time for Gazala. It wont be a tiger but it will pack enough punch to cut through Churchills and Shermans.
My gripes are just the rail fences and the overpowered hurricane fighter bombers. There is no way anyone would bother to freight thousands of wooden boards from Europe to the north african desert just to make sure no baby camels gets hit by the train. And I hope hartmann is doing something about the fighter bombers.
the fire power of the marder was similar to the firepower of the F2
The allies do probably win anytime on this map. Just give the Axis some more Tigers :naughty:
tiger for supercharge???
a tiger wouldn't make much of a differance it would just be plane bait
Yeah, and there were no Tigers in that battle.
No churchill, no hurricaines (or any allied planes for that matter) and no minefield would make the map nearly fair.
The minefield is a total choke point. Axis can't go through it because of the mines. Allies dont have something like that bottlenecking them into easy to find spots.
