Well its been 5 years to the day since I joined here and I must say I didn't think I'd last this long given my rather immature start which fortunately 99% of you are too new to remember :nodding:

I can actually remember buying BF192 with my Christmas 2002 money and if someone said I'd still be playing it going on 6 years I'd have laughed.

During the past 5 years many things have changed but this community still remains strong and despite the loss of some key members of the community I still feel its a fun place to post and have a general chit chat 5 years down the line.

I'm not sure why FH1 still appeals to me so much these days. After completing Crysis the graphics are seriously outdated and the physics non existent yet FH1 remains hugely appealing and its basically the only game I still play semi regularly. I think it must be the massive amount of content, one scenario could have you manning a 50cal in the Pacific as Zeros swarm above and the next minute your cowering in a trench as Russian Rocket Artillery explodes around you, I seriously cannot think of any game that has so much variety let alone completely FREE. For me the 'Golden Era of FH1' was the release of 0.6 as the community I feel was at its strongest and 0.6 brought many new things to the table and there were plenty of decent active servers about filled with decent rule abiding players. With the release of BF2 the countdown had been started for FH1's demise yet nearly 3 years on there are still enough people playing it to fill a server and have a throughly enjoyable game.

These days I don't really have much free time for video games but when I do despite having a powerful PC and a PS3 I always pick FH1. I played FH1 for the first time since November earlier this week and I have to say I found it almost as good as I remember it when it was at the height of its popularity. The only thing I miss are some of the decent players who have migrated over to FH2 but along with these a lot of the idiotic children have gone so its swings and roundabouts.

I hope when FH switches to a desirable engine the fun times will continue for many years as I feel that £30 I spent on BF1942 was in all honesty the most fun I've ever had from £30 and probably ever will have namely because its kept me entertained for going on 6 years :bows:

I'd like to thank the Dev team for all their hard work over the years as I know whats it like to have no free time and have a mountain of things to do so major kudos for having lifes and still making FH.

During my time in FH I've been part of the [11PzG] clan and have had too many memorable games to remember with an awesome bunch of guys and I thank the following clans for providing worthy opposition over 5 years of clan gaming: [DenLedeFi], eXavs`, [11.Frw], [DWG], [79th], [VT], [25.Wg], [F|H], [WaW], Illuminator, *TRA*, {9thinf}, AlteLandser, [FC], [130th], DivS and last but not least [FtN|GT] & [FtN|FH]. We've had some truly epic games and its a shame that they are only fond memories now :(

Still the future looks bright and who knows maybe you will see me on a FH2 server*

*When Hell Freezes over and there are no FH1 servers left!

But some pilots wouldn't be so happy to have him stuck in their tail!

At least we would have a PILOT among our ranks, not just wannabe-flyboys who bail the moment first cloud of flak goes off.

MG42 you have discovered the secret of a good game or mod. Good playability.

Why do I still play SHOGO and ONI even though both games are several years old? Because they are just plain fun.

To celebrate the 5 years of FH1, or what ever the age is for FH1.. I might just find myself on a FH1 server soon!
