Why am I getting only 2-5FPS in FH? I just did a fresh install of Windows today and tried three different nVIDIA drivers. This is on a P4 3.3Ghz, 2GB RAM, 6800 GT system @ 800x600 with no AA/AF. I even tried re-installing BF1942 and tried F.E.A.R. but I got 70 FPS in F.E.A.R. which is IMO normal. It seems that it's the whole BF1942 engine since it also lagged in BF1942.

In BF1942 it appeared fine when the map first loaded (~50FPS) but, the lag only appeared after I destroyed lot's of vehicles and stuff. Then, that's when my frames drop to 5FPS. And when I try to quit BF1942 after the frames dropped, the program would just stop responding. Also, some big maps in FH won't even load.

I just installed the chipset drivers that came in the CD with my mobo. It always worked fine with these before.

Highly doubt that'd fix it. The 6800 GT can't be that bad... :p :(

How would I go about updating my chipset drivers anyway? I think I'd have to do another fresh install of Windows becouse it isn't in Add or Remove Programs.

Thats wierd.. You should get 99 FPS almost all the time with that system. Since you seem to run FEAR without problems (FEAR being a MUCH MORE demanding game than Bf42), it can't really be your hardware. Have you tried playing vanilla Bf42? Your FH install might just be screwed up.

Your suggestion worked. I updated my motherboard drivers and it was smooth again. Apparently, I accidently used older drivers for my motherboard. But, I still have to format becouse there are some other drivers that cannot be uninstalled. Thanks.
