I didnt think the rifles changed that much at all in 0.7 and the fact that they are super accurate means that you need more skill to stay alive. I am not talking about bunnyhopping or running around like a retard but just knowing when it is safe to move, using cover, and knowing where your enemys will be hiding before they can shoot you. As far as knifes, I miss the days when it took skill to get a knife kill. However I must say that the knife code in .7 has helped me in the game a lot more than it has hurt me. Using mostly a rifle I now have a better chance aginst SMGs at close range so I cant complain about the knifes as much as the SMG monkeys do.
Knifing 1 person dosent mean anything in 0.7 as it did in previous versions however knifing 5+ people in a row certinally does.
FuzzyBunnyI don't understand the problem; yes, knives are lame in 0.7 (doubly so for us 200ms high-pingers who can't win a knife fight to save our lives.) However, it's not as if 0.7 turned the game from a full-on s00per-1337 combat simulator into some Operation Wolf clone.[/QUOTE] Believe it or not I got spawncamped by a axis with a knife at the allied airfield on crete.pvt. AllenUsualy enemy bunnyhops to you and knifes you while hopping and running around. If you try to use a wepaon against him you will usualy loose as it's pretty ahrd to shoot the retard. Anyway, I'm sure it'll change.;)
OR he instaswitches to his kar, ducks, headshots you, back to knife and continue.

IIRC the MGs ruled the battlefield.

You must be playing a different game. I see people tagscanning all the time and then it does not matter how well you are hidden.
I'm starting to think some of you guys will never be happy.
Donkey DongI still enjoy playing FH but have to say that after playing .7 for a while I miss .67. I like the new maps of course but everything in .7 offers no challenge. I mean you used to need skill to use a rifle or knife. Now it is a complete joke. I play with one hand now to try and make it more of a challenge. Why don't you guys give us a patch with the new mappack that changes FH back to a real game.
true as hell.... :(
USMA2010Damn it man!
Since .65 I believe. We have the PPS43 now, isn't that good enough? In all the images of PPSh41s I've seen, I can't remember any of them being loaded with the 35 round cheap-o magainze.
My point about the Panzer III has nothing to do with it's weak armor or underpowered gun. I just think it's funny to be using one after griping about it on the forums for almost two years. Not having to bitch about adding the Panzer III makes me feel like an integral part of FH is gone.
You could complain about the Maus:D
Kinfes now take no skills, and I missed it, other than that, no gripe.

I have somewhat the same feeling...though I was not a Panzer III B!tcher, I feel like we have come to the end of all journeys here...Fan Map Pack #6 really sealed the end of BF42 in my opinion, for all mods. When I first discovered FH (just after 0.6), there was no Panzer III! That's the kind of classic, incomplete, but satisfying kind of game you only get from a mod, and only a mod of FH's type. For me, classic BF42 was the Wake Island demo. When I think about it I get the sudden rush I got when I had first downloaded the demo. In the same way, "Classic FH" had no Panzer III, its damage values were messed, Pacific maps were screwed, but it felt complete. You can read the Purpose of Existence thread in the Pub to understand what I mean more. There were problems, setbacks, and we knew they would be fixed! And when they were we had even more new content. In some ways the unfinished, messed up, crappy, relatively tiny, FH 0.61 was the Best of the Three: 0.61, 0.65-.67, 0.7. It is kind of disappointing to think that we have no idea what FH2 will look like...it's on a different engine, but it really will be good...I'd like to say a heartfelt (lol) thanks to the Devs for creating such a good mod, and most of all keeping it going for almost a decade.
I didn't make it!
Look at it this way, you've got a whole new .61 to look forward to.
When FH2 comes out it will be all the same feeling all over again.
LoboI don't get your point about the panzer 3 (but don't explain it because you will annoy me even more, lol)
lmao nicely said man
.7s a huge improvement from .67 because you dont have the mg42 noob/ knife glitch hacker bastards anymore. You just get those few scummers who do it with rifles. I cant believe every server doesnt kick for that. when i see that its a one warning deal. Tag scanning gameplay BLOWS, populate a different server if your tag scanning. Sure does take mad skills to shoot red name tags from pixel distances with tanks mg lol
oh and if u wanna make the game harder play in servers where your ping is 130+ im sure youll have a Little tougher time with the rifles (;
Yes, 0.67 was the cat's pajamas...in 2005. I suggest that whatever luddites long for the good ol' days of 0.67, just play it. Exclusively. That way you won't have to sully your hard drive with that Mr. Fancypants young whippersnapper 0.7.
