btw I was joking about practising offline first - I doubt if anyone will have that kind of dedication :)
I made a little research and found the metadata of bftracks which made me clear that there are more European than American players.
In Europe: 2733 players on avarage/day In North America: 1973 players on avarage/day
Of course lots of players play on both continents, but the difference is quite obvious.
18 GMT is ok
D_Day_DawsonOf course when we all get the password, we'll actually all be practising with new flight dynamics, etc offline.... ;) so the servers shouldn't be busy at all on release day :D so maybe the time of release doesn't really matter.
When the password is released, i won't be "overloading" any server.....
Like D_Day_Dawson says first find out a thing or two about the new version offline, before i look like an idiot online while i find out.......you never know how vehicles and weapons will handle now.....and what is where in new maps. Offline you can find out new things without making other players very angry at you by wrecking vehicles that are very important to win the round, and your deaths when making mistakes won't make the other team win.
Ofcourse, there's always people that go online and find out what was changed by dying a 1000 deaths, crashing planes and wrecking vehicles in seconds, and getting lost most of the round in new maps.......like true nOObs. :)
But then again in pub servers......does it really matter ?
yeah after a new release i allways spend alot of time checking out all the maps and new things...
oh? ok then, the euros can have it first. i base my information about who is a foreigner by the nationality tag and the language spoken. maybe not the best indacators... i have it already, so just gimmie the PW and im good to go.

Heh, why don't you start a poll and find out ? Although it doesn't really matter anyways.
I have seen several Jappanese servers when not limiting the ping range on ASE, so they are playing it aswell. Not far from them ( at least from where i am ) a lot of australians seem to play FH and some players visit this forum frequently. Ofcourse people from (european) countries that do not speak english/visit this site will not cast a vote on these forums, but maybe you get a rough estimate answer in the Europe vs American amount of players.....although the germans ( largest FH fan group in europe for sure ) have their own FH site and won't vote here. I haven't seen french and exept for Lobo no spanish or portugese aswell, so i asume if they play FH they have their own language FH site aswell, wich means they won't vote here. I have seen some italian posters here though.
It is safest to set no ping limit in ASE and see how many FH servers show up, of what nationalities and with how many players on them........but that can be deceptional because of time diffrences.
In the end it is only a fun-to-know thing, even the devs will highly probable not care. They are creating a game to their likings and we play it or not, they do not try to find a market for it as retail game developers would to make money therefore it really does not matter where it is played most.
USMA2010 no offense to*LIGHTNING here, but we kinda did save you guys from nazism, so show a little gratitude here.
Ya I'm Dutch too.. so a little history here..
Stalin saved us from the Nazi's.. the Western allies saved us from communism. The Western invasion was never a necassity to defeat Nazi germany. Heck, if it wasn't for the Europeans, you wouldn't even exist. You'd be an indian dancing around campfire in banana skirts. :)
Yes this is kinda personal. I don't want to offend anyone who doesn't share the opinion the quoted person does.
Europe is teh best! (heheheh)
Now I almost forgot what I really wanted to say... oh yeah.. MKH, I mean, we've all been waiting for months at a time, so what difference would a few hours make? In my opinion, I sense a bit of "jealousy" here.. besides, I'm going to download from Fileplanet anyway, which appears to be much more reliable than bittorent, and faster too (when you are subscribed :P), so we'd all be able to play later anyway.
Well, true. I just thought, that if it wasn't too much of a trouble the team could schedule the password release suitable for Europeans too, or at least tell if it's worth waiting or should we get something better to do with our time ;)
Al CaponeI nominate 20.00 GMT it suits all!
i think that's a bit late. by then it would be 2200 in most of europe, considering that it's only that has got GMT+0. most of europe is in the GMT+1 to GMT+3-area.
1200 GMT seems to be the best so far. or 0000 GMT.
and - if you are going to create yet another "where are y'all from"-thread, DON'T have countries as options, but time zones. no more than 24 possibilities, some rather empty, and can be put together with other time zones and covers all people in the world.
and in those country-polls i've seen so far the majority on the forums does not come from north america, nor germany. most of them come from the countries lying close to germany or in the nordic region (IIRC). not saying that there were few germans, of course :)
