They may be useless but the mortars are right now too. They just have a high "coolness" factor that would make people use them for a while.

This may sound odd, but is there any way of making a Japanese kamikaze plane? Here me out on this. Wouldn't it help the Japanese strategically to have a plane with no real weapons that when destroyed sets off 3 artillery sized explosions? We all admit that the Japanese tanks are just infantry support and are cannon fodder for anything else. Japanese infantry can't stand a chance to the superior infantry weaponry of the Americans. For some odd reason, there is no artillery in Japanese maps, not in the sense of providing support, only naval defense really... So why not give them a tactic that can't really be used for anything except supporting an attack for your team?

The "Ohka" suicide bomb is already in game, it's the white plane that hangs under the Betty's belly on Iwo Jima. It's a mighty weapon, capable of sinking a cruiser in one hit.

the problem with playing the japanese is that none of the other players know how to use their tactics. They japs usually worked in coordination with each other. Thats what forgotten hope tries to bring forth but it is extremely hard to use team tactics to their full potential on multiplayer PC games.

Grahf Therefore, Japan concentrated almost 100% on ship and aircraft development. As such, Japan had more aircraft carriers than any other nation on earth at the start of WWII (Germany had zero), Japan had more battleships and MONSTROUSLY HEAVY ships like the Yamato (which was more heavily armored and more powerful than the Bismarck) than any other nation, Japan had the largest submarines too....and of course Japan had the most effective torpedoe on earth in WWII: the Long Lance. .

Ahem Japans navy was a copy of the Royal navy after ww1.The japs studied the battle of Jutland etc and copied the royal navy.Also at the start of the war the british had the most battleships and cruisers etc.This had all changed by 1941 ish however when Britians fleet suffered at the hands of the u boats with 1 outta 4 ships leaving britian never to return... By the end of the war America ruled all.

Mortars are terrible. Knee mortars and emplacements alike. They shoot WAY too far and can't be LOS targetted, which is a necessity on pubs. The sound and graphic is cool, and I'd definately set one up and help spam a flag if it was possible to do without having to plot on a map where to put the thing so the minimum angle of fire would end up in the base.

I'd still like to see some Japanese Artllery, and maybe a 4 seater Scout car? If so, along with the Katana and possibly Bayonet I'd be happy.

Aequitasartillary just shoot too damm far and straight.

Artillery is for shooting from across the map. It is not for LOS engagements. AT gun’s are for LOS. Mortars are just not versatile enough yet, they need to be able to shoot high and close, low and far, and everywhere in between. Plus splash damage needs to be increased for mortars and artillery.
