Soooooooo, its been a long time since i last crossed swords with the majority of the forum community. I expect flames, let them come. I was having a jolly good time on the Wolf server today, and then we got to sector 318. I remember this map, not one of my favorites but always a good game, until today. I understand the Panzer IV and Panther were much superior to Shermans, but that was IRL. I watched some horrible camping on that map. It was over in 10 minutes, Germans camped to death on left flag. Now, I would dismiss this, but the game has ended that way the last 3 times i played that map, whats with that left flag anyways? Now, we get to the flesh of this. I understand that everything that has ever come out of Russia is slap-together shit(sarcasm, duh), compared to the British, French, Chinese, Japanese, Germans, and especially the almighty American overlords, but does that really justify the uninterrupted BS on the Soviet maps? I mean come on, as it stands now, the Japs would probably win against Russia in FH. Now, this is the part where everyone starts flaming about my "skills", so I'm not talking about myself, i am relating what i observed. Dont take any of this seriously, I wont even remember what i said tomorrow, especially the devs who make FH possible for all of us. Just wanted to get this off my mind so I can sleep easy knowing that I said what i felt like, and because of that some forum noob loser is pissed enough to vindicate my existance with a flame aimed at my gaming skills and genitalia. Well, give me your worst flamers. As for the good souls out there, dont take me seriously this time around.

Off Topic, I am right in assuming that FH2 will NOT require the BF2 expansion pack, right?

All maps are balanced in one way or the other. Russians oftn hav a T-34 for example or other hot stuff. It's all a combination of numbers and quality.

Ofcourse some maps will "turn bad" once one side gained the upper hand but there is no bias in favor of Axis.

Just my two cents for now, I need sleep badly :p

Off Topic, I am right in assuming that FH2 will NOT require the BF2 expansion pack, right?

Assuming they won't require any of the BF2 expansion pack's content, then yes, you are right.

I mean come on, as it stands now, the Japs would probably win against Russia in FH. Now, this is the part where everyone starts flaming about my "skills", so I'm not talking about myself, i am relating what i observed.

I both agree and disagree on this point. There is one year were Russia is really underpowered in FH : second half of 1943 and early 1944. This is caused by the unrealistic weakness of the T34/76 towards the Tiger (discussed, amongst other things, in the "weapon penetration" thread), and the distinct lack of more soviet SPG and tank destroyers. Too bad, since most eastern front FH maps are located in these two years (Proky, Kharkov Outskirt, Valirisk, Orel...). Soviet planes are also very few, especially when we consider the FH soviet bomber fleet is only composed of the TB3 (a plane obsolete before the war, and relatively inexistant in combat operations shortly after the beginning of the war) and the IL2. A shame when we take into consideration that there were more than a few very successful light and medium bombers series in production during the war.

HOWEVER, the russians have one of the best hand weapon arsenal in the whole game, and are now equiped with the excellent PPs43 and still uses the mighty (altho extremely and perhaps unrealistically unaccurate) PPsh41. All soviet hand weapons are fantastic in my opinion. The Mosin is very good, even the carbine version. The SVT40 is a very good semi-automatic solution and perhaps my favourite semi-auto rifle, the DP is hands down my favourite LMG, the PTRD massacres the Panzer III, and can even serve as a decent rifle if you want ultimate precision and a certain 1 shot kill weapon. Even the RPG43 grenades can easily replace the rocket propelled grenades used by other weapons, an RPG43 equiped russian on top of a german Tiger = death kitty :p .

As far as tanks go, Russian tanks put german tanks to shame in 1941-42. In Kharkov Winter, the Kv1 feels like a Kingtiger and the T34/76 like a Panther (except that the germans have no mobile tanks to counter them, relying on slow panzer III to outflank tanks faster than themselves). In 1944-45 maps, the T34/85 is very decently equiped to make short work of all german tanks, and the IS2 is VERY deadly when the tanker knows how to make his shots count. I feel I must also mention how the Su76 possesses what feels like one of the most powerful weapon in FH right now, it can kill Tiger with a single, well placed shell.

Yeah, as Komrad_B has written here is definetly true. Now that sloping armor is a factor in FH, the T-34 is pretty much the killah on early war maps (which it was IRL). Oh, and that puny 50mm gun of the PzKpw III cant penetrate nowhere on the KV1, except in its ass.

cant say that about sector 318. i have seen that map won by the allies quite some times since the 0.7 release. not as often as in 0.67, but still in a good proportion. the one map that annoys me abit is tobruk. in 0.67 allies won that map 95% of the time, but since 0.7 i havent seen the australians win a single time (since people got used to the new gameplay). problem is, that the german long barrel tanks evened the map pretty good. but the additional stuka available from the start of the map pretty much kills all chances for allies to win. but hey, this mod is great nontheless, and not everybody must like every map and its gameplay.

I still say Omaha 'Charlie Setor' ..Even now when its a bit harder to use mg's. Still I hate that allies cant hold the bunkers... limit the damn german grenades..

I agree, but there seems to be a ticket problem in this map. If the Italians cap a single flag (and they will everytime, the first australian line of defence is relatively weak), the tickets stop bleeding. The Crusaders, wich are outnumbered and feel quite weak in this map, stand little chance agaisnt the Panzer III or even the Italian tanks, even less agaisnt the Stuka, wich completely destroys any hope the Aussies have of winning the map (unless the pilots are incompetants).

No, to stop the bleed italians must take all the first defence line (cap two flags and grey the third one), the aussies loose easily if they don't defend more time the first line, imo too much people spawns in the village to get the tanks, this is stupid, only two persons must spawn there to take the crusaders and few some more to get the vickers. With a well defended first line is not so easy for the tanks to take the flags. Coordinate with your mates so only the necesary players spawn in the city
