I'm not ranting or being negative here, but what exactly is the point of this map? Is it a concept map that's the brainchild of some anti-mg whorage designer? First time I played it I kept looking for support kits, bunkers, etc.

Maybe I'm just missing the spirit of the whole thing.

Could someone enlighten me please.

If you are looking for SMGs, there are a couple pickup hits around the map. But thank god they didn't make them widely available.

I'd prefer if there were no guns at all. That map is great for Sword/knive fighting, that's what it was designed for.

I only use a Katana to get kills on that map, or a suicide bomb if i am surrounded ;)

It's great for intense rifle battles.

I personally don't have any problem with the lack of a mg-supportclass on this map, because a selectable mg-class will only ruine the map. (The map will only turn in one big American whorage party due to the lag of Japenese counterparts; like in the pacific theatre of 0.61) But there are some mg pickup kits laying around the map. Like in the northern Japanese bunker. The mg-kit is situated on the ground floor behind the radioroom.

Yeah, there's an SMG kit (I think with Expacks) located not far from the airfield, too. I haven't played this one online either, but this seems to me to be sort of a "Thin Red Line" style map, based on what I've seen of that movie (which isn't much). Mostly focusing on the rifles. It seems like one of the few maps where an APC will really count for something, unlike most other maps where APCs are just cannon fodder.

The map is nice to look at but I dont like it, very basic and boring to me, and the planes do nothing to this map.

The potential is there.

I love that map! One of the best designed ones in my opinion, with only rifles (and pick-up SMG's, MG's) as your weapons. The island flag is a bit random, but somehow has it's own "reason" for being there, enabling either the US or Japs to spawn and attack from unusual directions.
