With .65 coming very soon we are all expecting great things and the fun that will come with that next release. So with the envelope constantly being pushed in these forums for what the current 1942 FH engine can accomplish, all the anticipation for this upcoming release, and the goodies that will be included, my mind began to wonder off into the realm of deeper speculation, concerning FH for BF2. I have used the search function for this topic and came up with a few things, but no threads that deal with what FH may be like for BF2. I know that game is way off and that's what I find fun about thinking about what may or may not be. Natrually, this topic cannot be rooted in any sort of reality as we know limited things about what we can expect from BF2, but just for wasting time and daydreaming, what can we wish for from the BF2 Forgotten Hope? I'm looking forward to beautiful maps, even more richly populated with objects and with deeper detail. An amazing new sound engine with loads more effects for bullets and projectiles hitting different materials. I can't wait to see the new FH Tiger or Shermans! I bet the models and skins will be even more impressive than what we have now. I even imagine the FH tweaks to the hitboxes will be very impressive in their accuracy. With destructible environments I can see how maps we already have available to us might play out. I hear that depending on what vehicle you get into, your guy will change to look like that soldier. So if we get into a Tiger the commander should be dressed like a tank commander. A German tank commander dressed in the black uniform or long coat? That's going to be wicked! I've got more speculations but I'm at work now and can't type them all out so what do you guys hope for?

Well obviously it will look alot better and have a way better physics engine that will alow all sorts of cool stuff.

Then it will be interesting to find out what the BF 2 Features alow the Devs to do game-play wise. I dont think the core of FH will change much. It will still play much the same as on BF 1942. It will just be a wohle lot better...

And we´d fianlly get a Medic...

Someone mentioned in the BF:V thread that FH could port to BF2....I think it would be a good option too...

Anyway, the devs said they are thinking about it...so keep your fingers crossed.

They don't know yet. That is their (un)official statement. BF2 be a good game but maybe the devs decided to move to an other game with an even better engine or stop working as a team altogether. They just don't know yet.

no, i'm saying that the devs are undecided yet wether they will mod for bf2.

They could (will) finish FH for bf1942 and then either move to bf2, and other game or disband.

Could they not move in progress? BF2 is expected this coming spring - about the time, I'd guess, that 0.7 will be out. Is there no chance of them deciding to port over and start working on an FH2 before the final build is released for BF42? It just strikes me that if they wait until we've reached the (undoubtably brilliant) FH 1.0 BF42 build, even BF2 will be something like a year old.

Heh, or maybe they're just bored of putting up with all of us, and want to call it a day at BF2. But hey, imagine FH2 - being the only, or the best, WW2 mod for such a great engine. You could probably leave all of us "I knew them before they were famous" people in the dust, relegated to appearing on TV specials telling made-up stories about you in ten years time. ;)

Yeah but I think we would like to see how BF2 ends up before a port, try it out a little (though a port is better anyway for the graphics, map size and 100 player capability alone).

i sure as hell hope they do. its gonna be hard at first making a mod about ww2 in a game that has nothing to do with that war at all. just pray...
