some vehicles and statics will be required until they are fully replaced by new exclusive models. they're only place holders, and will be gradually phased out.

I don't know if use of placeholders is too good idea in the end. With all these really professional looking mods around, like Frontlines, FH2 is going to have really hard time competing with them. I think it's best to give a good first impression.

friend, you're missing the big picture. *NO player models. They have to be based on the ones in BF2 (with modern equipment possibly modeled directly on the player model) or modeled, animated, skinned... a lot of work. *No German, French, Italian, American, Russian, Japanese, Canadian or British Voice commands. *Dozens of different sounds *Most vegetation (Bf2 will contain Asian/Arabic foilage only) *Buildings. FH is already making better ones, but there will be a lot less. Especially Arabic & Asian. Also, fences, bunkers, rocks , tables, chairs, bridges etc *Vehicles. T-34/76, T-34/85, Panzer IV F1/F2/H/D/C, Tiger, Wespe, Sdkfz 251, M3A1, Willys GP, Aichi D3A VAL, Corsair, SBD, Mustang, Bf109E/G etc, Stuka G/D/B, Mig 3, B-17, Spitfire, HMS Prince of Wales, all american, british & japanese destroyers, Battleship Yamato, all japanese and american carriers, Gato & 7C subs, Zero & Rufe, Bofors AA guns, Flak 30/37, the whole Sherman series, Brummbär, JagdPanzer IV, M10, M36, Ho-Ki, Daihatsu, and MORE. Also some vehicles uses tracks/suspension from dice vehicles. *Other equipment. Bar1918, Rkm wz 28, Brownings mg's (iirc), Mg42, Mg34 ammo box, Garand, Colt 1911, M1 Bazooka, Johnson 1941, Type 99, Mp18, Thompson, Tommygun, knife, Dp1928, Stg44, Panzerschreck, all dice helmets, flags...

Not that that doesn't hold true for everything in BF 1942. No paved roads, no paved runways, no side-walks... Nothing. It's sadroll%20eyes%20%28sarcastic%29.gif. It's amusing how much better Midway looks now that the FH team has given it a paved runway:D. In Battlefield 2, will it make a difference what terrain you're driving on? I'm not asking for vehicles to suddenly get flat tires from driving trough grass or anything, but I think it should make a difference if you're taxiing your F-15 over a vegetable crop instead of over a runway:smokin:.

Nothing from bf1942 should be used, we want a totally new experience, not more bf1942 on a new game, afterall what would be the point in moving then?

Basically the way i see it is the player models and voice commands will be the big problem, maybe dice will allow voice commands to be used but thats probably about it, I think FH already have enough weapons, vehicles and statics to make 1 or 2 decent maps, however we'll be needing animations for guns, player models and off course voice commands.

Don't expect an FH release on Bf2 anytime soon after the games released, you'll be far better just playing bf2.

Arisakathat's the total opposite of everything i've heard to now, and even the devs have stated otherwise. for BF2 anything from any game in the battlefield series can be used, or so it has been said to now....

That's good then. After some coffee , I thought about it and realised a lot of stuff would have to made from scratch if what I'd read was true (guess you can't believe everything you read here :D ), and that would take a long time. I would have no problem with BF42 stuff being used as placeholders (They'll probably be gone by my next upgrade, which I'll likely need for BF2 :D ) But won't the devs be redoing a lot of stuff anyway? I may be wrong (I usually am :D ), but I thought I read that that tank we can't mention was taking time because it was going to need mipmapping for BF2, and there was no point releasing a tank which they would redo shortly anyway.

Look at the other 2-3 WWII mods for BF2. Forgotten Hope is waaaay ahead of them in terms of usable content. Even if it takes a long time, if the developers want to utilize all the improvements BF2 offers, they'll move to BF2. If not, we'll have other WWII mods for BF2. It's a win-win. Again, according to the post I read, this only affects models. So, from the looks of it, radio commands and other things will still be allowed.

Mandingo 18''Yes, In the Hell of Bocage really should replace DICE Bocage in 0.7. DICE Bocage is simply the worst map currently in FH. In the Hell of Bocage is like 100 times better.

I don't agree with the Bocage map being the worst but the new map rocks! The FH Devs should adopt this brain child... Definitely the direction FH maps should go, at least the European ones.
