bocage is actually a product of a drunk developer: if you play the vanilla bf campaign it even says something about the hedgerows beeing all over there. But look at the map! Its looking like a golfplaying area (sry dont know the r.w.) where some giant child has digged in some rivers and built a windmill and other buildings using LEGO. Its just an afront, having nothing to do with the Original area in france.

schoolkidLook at the other 2-3 WWII mods for BF2. Forgotten Hope is waaaay ahead of them in terms of usable content. Even if it takes a long time, if the developers want to utilize all the improvements BF2 offers, they'll move to BF2. If not, we'll have other WWII mods for BF2. It's a win-win. Again, according to the post I read, this only affects models. So, from the looks of it, radio commands and other things will still be allowed.

So how long do you think it will take FH2 to come out? With the work the FH mod team can do, They would have most of the skins and such done before the 1st version comes out IMO, but what would they do with the commander system? like maybe he can call in arty strikes, and all that squad crap, but UAV and supply drop? will FH remove this or replace it with something else, less modern, I think it should be removed, or trimmed SERIOUSLY down.

I think we will be surprised, I have always been amazed with devs of all mods, look at some of the stuff that has been created in spite of Dice, morters, helicopters, barbed wire that you can blow with bangalores, ever check out Action Battlefield??? Devs of all mods took BF farther than I ever knew it could go, Ive been playing BF variants for 2 years and I'll be playing again tonight!!! I just hope that we can get decent WWII mods for BF2, Im just not impressed with modern warfare, give be a radial piston engine anyday!

Some more examples would be...

  • A working, advanced HUD (Silent Heroes).
  • Animated loading screen (Silent Heroes).
  • Music playing in-game (to be added to GC 5,3).
  • FPS combined with RTS (Empires mod:bows:).
  • Minor things like a 7th passenger seat for some vehicles (various mods).

And that's just a few of them. Back to DICE maps: I don't really dislike them, but FH's maps are way better. But yes, some of them are really strange, like Bocage.

A working, advanced HUD

Sorry, what do you mean?

Animated loading screen

Unnecessary, in my opinion.

Music playing in-game

I say the only music that should be playing is ambience; for example, a French song playing when you walk by a record player, or a radio broadcast off a radio, maybe even propaganda loudspeakers a la BF Vietnam (GI, your government has betrayed you) and Call of Duty (Comrades of the Soviet Union, the German Army is your friend). If you want to hear music while playing, here's what you do: Fire up your media player, pick the song you like and play it, and start up BF1942. Voila!!!

FPS combined with RTS

Nah, I say keep it FPS. If FH moves to BF2, it may be able to make use of the Commander Mode, but I say keep it simple.

So how long do you think it will take FH2 to come out?

Months and months and months. While we wait, we can go on playing FH on BF1942.

well that is quite a pessimistic view of the situation, but i agree with the music. Well there will anyway be a musicplayer in BF2 included i guess (like in BF-V) so why should fh have a music on all the time? That would only cause chaos on the forums, cause some will like the FH music , some wont and these groups will go on war. So MUSIC INGAME ALL THE TIME: NO

music ingame all the time is a terrible idea, who mentioned that? lol nuts I say... If it had a radio feature like BF:V that would be cool but I would grow tired of that personally, so it'd be nice if it was something server side that could be switched on or off, so if you're with your buddies you can crank up some Slayer or something and kill but otherwise on a pubby no thanks.

ya, music would be pretty cool for awhile, but it would just get annoying after awhile personally, i thought it would be pretty cool to have radio chatter just like wat DCF has...it just gives it more ambience to the game when driving a vehicle
