The bombers certainly need more armour/HP, but their turrets are lethal. Sorry to say, but you must have been missing or something. I've taken out full health BF110s in about 3 seconds of fire from a rear Lanc turret and ~5s from a Wellington turret.

This map needs a little bit of tuning, ever play it on server full of crappy pilots?

Allied planes need some upgrading i doubt they were going into battle with .303 MGs in 1943.

My problem with this kind of maps is that I do know how to dodge and avoid enemy fire but SUCK at shooting other planes... And so far I have only managed to successfully bomb the factories by diving, dropping all bombs and killing myself in the blast... Took 3 factories out by repeating this and got automatically kicked because of -8 score :D ...

Jumping over water would be no problem if we finally got those flying boats that were modelled before even FH 0.5 but never made it into the game.

We got schnellboote now too, perfect able to rescue survivors out of the water.

In reality that was an important task of the Schnellboote and E boats in the English channel, aswell as flying boats both sides possesed and used for air crew rescue.

Air crew and certainly pilots were no ordinary infantry that could be recruited by the hundred thousands, they were time consuming to train and therefore hard to come by in sufficient numbers........very valuable. Valuable enough to retrieve under fire or hazardous conditions in the English channel.

I don't know anymore if it was a brittisch flying boat or a german one, but one type of flying boat was so heavily defended by mg positions it was known to the Germans as "Stachelschwein" and attacking it would probably end in that fighter pilot having a swim. So like a real Stachelschwein it was rather left alone if encountered.....it wasn't very glorious anyway to attack a rescue vehicle.

I would like to see units that have a rescue purpose in FH in maps with a lot of water and aircraft......even if they are wasted on 98 % of all players. ( the kind that think "if it can't frag it is useless".... right :uhm: )

Btw : is there really no other solution than leaving parachutes out to prevent enemy players from bailing over enemy terrain and mess around there on the ground ? I think server admins are quitte capable of kicking players off the server if they don't want enemy players bailing on purpose over enemy terrain.

It is obvious enough if someone bailed to escape and leave that territory as fast as possible ( again there should be (fishing)boats on the coastline to be able to do that ) or if someone bailed to herass enemies on their territory. In the last case : kick.

But then again when the Germans don't lose when their last factory is destroyed, the situation is even demanding an invasion on land.

I agree that bombers need more HP; right now, the moment a flak gunner or pilot sees a Lancaster or Wellington, it's going to die. Gunning is becoming a way to give easy kills to the other team. It just doesn't feel realistic at the moment: I've never even seen a bomber even make it to the rearming run.

Although, for all the annoyance of playing allied, they do tend to win (or rather, take out the factories: they never cap all the little men) most of the time. So if bombers are made harder to make the map more playable, also bear in mind there should be some balanced imposed elsewhere otherwise it'd be a walkover.

So why is it that when the Allies have all the flags, they bleed? I waited for 10 minutes while one lone Axis teammember hid in a barn until the game ended. The tickets, slowing bleeding off until the Axis won, 1-0. Outrageous. Parachutes would turn the Allies into a paratrooping force that would just kill all the Axis on the guns. How annoying would that be? I'm glad they don't have them. It'd be like Omaha with Germans on the beach, they don't belong there. Other than that, I've had more fun on this map than I have in other maps in a long time. Very cool. My only gripe about this map other than what I listed is that the BF engine can't draw as far as I'd like. No matter which gun I'm on it seems like I'm alone. I don't even hear the other guns, just planes, it's like isolation. Imagine the night sky lit up with AA trailing up towards the stars in all directions, from all the guns. FLAK exploding and flashing way up there. It would be an amazing experience. Throw in searchlights and you've got one hell of an atmosphere created by the gameplay alone. Oh well, once again I look to FH on BF2 to hopefully be able to experience these things.
