FatJoe;4811044wow, wait..

this works? I can now run behind enemy Jasper and shout "drop you're weapons!!" and he'll actualy hear me?

btw HIJACK

If he is in the same Mumble server, then yeah. If he isnt, then he wont hear a thing from him, nor vice versa. But yeah, if you are behind him while you are both in the mumble server, he will hear you as if you were standing right behind him.

lol that would be funny. You yell over the mic at somebody whos in the same mumble as you driving a car whos a enemy. "Wait! Ca i get a ride?" then they stop, you shoot them, and be on your merry way. =p

As a developer myself I found this all very interesting and wondered how the hell they could extract your Position information out of the running BF2.exe. Looking at the wiki, I was very surprised that they indeed do this by "hacking" into the game (direct memory access) and explaining how to do this for other games. The Code used to read this info can be found in their sources. Pretty interesting to see how easy you can access this data, once you know how to find it. I just hope that it is much harder to write these values into the game !

Another thing is that even with my limited C++ knowledge it should be very simple to alter the Mumble Source to work somewhat like an aimbot or something. Everyone on the same Mumble Server sends you his Position in the Game world and you already have the overlay features available..

So basically this makes me worried about cheating and I wonder why no one else hasn´t mentioned this by now..

Aimbots really aren't that dangerous. The server calculates where you hit, thus an aimbot could only help by pointing in the direction to shoot.

Does any FH2 server has its own server on Mumble?
