Well just to start with i thought id say what an excellent job you devs have made of the British bombers and what a pleasure they are to fly.
However on bombing the reich i was sat in the Lancy in the top gunner position when a bf109 attacked from behind, so i opened up on him all guns blazing i was getting the hit cross hairs for what seemed along time, yet to know avail as the 109 didnt seem to be affected, is this a hit point issue as i believe the defense guns were quite effective once they hit there target.
So u guys in the 109s are you feeling the effect of being hit or what?
Lastly on Bombing the Reich what part am i bombing is it the flag area or the 2 hangers or what?
Bomb the Factories ;)
Thanks where abouts are the factorys located.
check your minimap. they show up as vehicles with a factory shape. you can't miss it. just try to fly around over the german area in a bf109 in single player.
there is one near the docks, one at the bottom right corner of the map, one closer to the german hangers, and another towards the bottom left of the map. (i have forgotten if there are anymore) they are on the mini-map as like an "L" shaped vehicle. cant miss them. about the hitpoints, i cant say i noticed. im usually the one bombing the factories, not manning the MG's
Unfortunately the Brits used .303" MG's on their bombers, a weapon not known for its hitting power. IIRC Canadian Lanc's used the .50cal (12.7mm) HMG's due to this very problem.

The "Halifax" Bomber, as it was named by CDN Military (if I'm not mistaken). I do get damaged by the Bomber-Def-Guns; but usually the Me109's 30mm cannon take care of the Bomber first... Usually get shot down by Fighters, or Wreckage. -That's what you get for "pressing" your attack:rolleyes: .
The Handley-Page Halifax and the Avro Lancaster were two different aircraft.
:nodding:
The .303 is a weak gun in the later half of the war. Earler on, it might have been fine for disabling a fighter so that it can not attack.
After all, you do not need to destroy the fighter, rather destroy its ability to be on the offensive. Anyone who played IL2:FB, and has flown an I-16 or Yak-1 against a He-111 or Ju-88 knows what I am talking about.
Maybe the Lancasters and Wellingtons should spawn in the air to avoid being strafed while taking off?
That would surely increase their use when they worked as mobile spawnpoints and also make it harder for the enemy planes to take out from that height.
