Hi all, Just a quick couple of questions for the guys in the know. I recently D/L'd the Forgotten Hope preview movie from their homepage, and noticed the Heinkel 115 floatplane and the Me 323 transport plane. Can anyone tell me why the have been taken out of the current version, what map/s they were on and finally, will we see their return?? Secondly, just wondering why the Gewehr 41 rifle has not been introduced. From what I have read, they were the standard infantry rifle on the Eastern front. I tried the search function, but couldnt come up with anything. Any help with these questions would be most appreciated.

I can't really touch on the first question... The G41 is simply a earlier model of what was to become the G43. The G41 isn't all too common. The K98k was still the standard issue rifle for all branches of the German Armed Forces throughout WWII. The germans wanted a semi-automatic rifle to compete with the garand and the svt. What was to become the G43 (modelled loosely off the SVT) was meant to replace the K98 earlier on, that's where the G41 comes into play. I don't think it's really a necessary item, but hey, McGibs likes remodelling and modelling rifles, maybe he'll fix us up. :D

I found a he115 listing in the rfa files so I guess it's still in. Is it the float plane on the Atlantic map?

I think we will definately see those planes at some point....but the problem with the floatplane is that it needs water to take off from...and float planes were used for reconnaisance on the Atlantic....so basically the only map that should have it would be Atlantic...but that thing laggs already so badly, that it would be impossible to fly on it....

Me 323 was appearently a crappy model (and buggy) so it has been remodeled but not skinned. He 115, well there is no suitable map for it.

I was playing around with different models and usually if hte mdoel is not in game it is bugged and FH is still working on troubleshooting.

Anyone who has ever had to troubleshoot lines of code without a SDK knows this is a hair pulling tedious job I do not envy.

Give FH time. Im sure they are still trying to work the bugs out. Look at all the different mdoels FH has brought in game and look how few coders and skinners and you begin to see where the bottleneck is.

When I played around with a 323 Gigant on a test map in BC it has a tendancy to self destruct while sitting still on the ground.

My only regret is that I dont have the skill necessary to help.

Here here...

With my experience in coding(started nov. 02), finding whats wrong in your code is pretty much the hardest thing in any branch(I model, map, etc also). On top of that, Planes are pretty much the hardest thing to code, so many unique items... I have lost the oppertunity to be on two of the most popular mods out, because I was unable to code a plane ingame...

I still remember how you wanted to be in FH so badly ;)
