The Avenger is already modeled, I must skin it.

Those holes are for the belly gunner, the dorsal gunner entered in the bubble during combat, the brits received Avengers by lend-lease, it will have workable bay doors, remember that we have realized how to move flaps, canopies and this kind of stuff.

Dear Moldie,

It is not stupid to mount the torpedo internally. Having the torpedo hanging out in the wind creates drag, drag reduces speed and increases fuel usage.

By mounting the torpedo internally you now have a faster torpedo bomber with more range which increases its combat radius which increases its combat effectiveness.

The part sticking down right in front of the tailwheel is where the belly gunner would have sat.

And just FYI...

TBF - Torpedo Bomber Grumman

TBM - Torpedo Bomber Eastern Aviation

Eastern Aviation was the aircraft production part of General Motors Corporation, GMC. They liscence built Grumman aircraft during WW2 since Grumman was busy building Wildcats and then Hellcats for the USN and others.

It was common for the TBM Avengers not to have the rear turret.

Now just don't ruin that perfect model with a "boeing 747" flight code will ya ?

Btw Lobo, are you considering in the long run to give more bombers working bomb bay doors ? Such as the B17, Ju 88 and betty Bomber ?

I know how you can do working bomb bay doors. The arrows and make the bombs drop above the bay doors so you have to open the door.
